Thank you
for taking the time to check out my page. I can't wait to share more blog posts, images and video about endangered species!

Who am I? Describing that fully could take days. Here's the short version: I am a functionally deaf writer/photographer whose main focus is ecology and animals.

The slightly longer version is that I am an award-winning journalist, filmmaker, and educational speaker. My wildlife writing and photography have appeared worldwide in print and online. I am a father of two, a husband, a combat veteran who struggles with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and a sufferer of Meniere's Disease. I've written two nonfiction books (currently working on a third), directed four documentary films, and volunteer as a marine mammal stranding responder in Washington State.

Giving you access to exclusive multimedia and sharing my adventures is a real treat for me.

In 2011, I began to film and produce documentaries dealing with endangered species. All of my films to date have been noncommercial projects, crowd funded, and done in partnership with nonprofit rescue and educational organizations.

During the past five years I've been lucky enough to travel the world and document animal issues. Great white sharks, orca whales, sea turtles, African elephants, lions, manatees, seals and sea lions have all been the stars of my films and writing.

I'd not only like to continue telling these stories, but to reach wider audiences. Hopefully, I can have a positive affect on endangered species recovery through education and inspiration to action. Upcoming projects include reporting on climate change in East Africa, the recovery of the southern sea otters, and exploration of the behavior of a unique colony of foxes.

I am grateful for the interest in my work. It lifts me up and helps me continue the difficult task of telling important stories, and keeps me in the field, photographing and writing about amazing animals, people and places.

Thank you and cheers!
