Hello! My name is Sharon Ross and I've been making art for as long as I can remember. I've had the great pleasure of holding a variety of artistic jobs. I also suffer from an insatiable drive for artistic improvement.  As well as having my traditional art featured in art shows and in private collections across Canada, the United States, and Mexico I have gone on to illustrate 3 published picture books as well as a few that never made it to print.

I spent a great deal of time working in early arts and facilitating artistic learning for children and families as Atelierista in a Reggio Emilia based community center. I have come to love passing along the tools and access that artistic exploration creates. I have given private lessons and tutored many young (and not so young) artists over the years and I'd love to be able to continue down that journey some day.

To be honest, because every little bit helps. Some of my colleagues have encouraged me to look into patreon as a means to get my projects off the ground and running. I've hesitated for a long time but now I am at a point where the old adage "It doesn't hurt to ask" rings a little  more true.

With your support, I'll have some more security and room to move with my work. I'll have the ability to upgrade my tools, to spend all of my free moments breathing life into a couple of projects that I feel passionately about. I'll be able to pursue new and exciting projects based on your feedback. Basically, you'll be helping me to make available more of the work that I love and believe in.

In addition to the rewards outlined in the "rewards" section of the page, your input and feedback will help with a number of pressing projects I've outlined below.

Children's Picture Book Series: The Adventures of Ruby Chance - This series features the character Ruby as she traverses the modern terrain with an over active imagination and flair for historical callbacks. In her debut story Ruby finds her family floating down river with their possessions in hand, making their way to new land. I wont ruin it for you but suffice to say, Ruby isn't actually on a viking ship crossing a river of sea creatures. The development of this project would include colouring pages, website, learning sheets, work books, and eventually, animated online interactions.
WebComic: FoxPie - This web comic currently has 52 weeks of written and sketched out story that is begging for some ink and colour before publishing. The series would see weekly episodes and some special holiday editions.
Videos: Projects for the classroom
My time as an Atelierista gave me the opportunity to develop some really great early arts learning experiences that are currently not being put to use. I'd like to put together a series of videos covering these projects and how to implement them at home or in the classroom. A schedule for this series would be determined with your help.
Videos: Live Art Stream
I'd like to make sure that the live stream happens on a weekly basis and invite viewers and patrons to join in the discussion as I work. This could easily lend itself to many tutorial videos that could be created using these videos, once edited and narrated.
Painted Series: Texas- New Roots
Since moving to Texas I have had the great pleasure of seeing this state with fresh eyes. With empty canvases and about a dozen ideas and images, I intend to create a series of paintings to show this fresh view (so long as I can get to it while its still fresh) and submit the work to local galleries and shows in the area.

And there's more. For now, those are the pressing projects that will be moving forward.

In closing, there is no obligation to support me in any way but if you do I will consider it my obligation to fill your life with art, sketches, paintings, renders, animations, tales, and inspirations as a way to say thank you, and let you know that your investment in me is appreciated.

Have a look below at the rewards tiers and to the side for some of the financial goals.
