This is where you hop aboard our incredible journey, from selling our house and everything in it, to becoming full-time live-aboards embarking on world travels by the most ancient means of global transport...SAILING!!

We have recently sold our car, left the marina, bought bicycles, and now live full-time at anchor and on solar power while we travel south down the West Coast of North America from Vancouver Island to Mexico!!

Who is Saltwest Co?
Saltwest Co is Josh, Morgan and Kyuss (our beautiful Shepherd / Collie cross).  In the spring of 2017, we decided to kick our dreams into high gear and liquidated all our assets in order to buy the boat of our dreams, a 42' Custom Steel Bruce Roberts designed sailboat.  Morgan is a computer coding guru with a wealth of municipal government experience.  Add her focus and tech skills to Josh's background in Non-Profit, business management, fibreglass fabrication (surfboard company) and music production, and you have yourself a bonafide content creation machine!! 

What are we up to? 
We’ve set a goal of $1000 per video to supplement our video production costs, improve our production, and offer greater value to our patrons, while we chronicle our sailing adventure down the US West Coast and beyond into the South Pacific.
We have realized that life is too short to talk about the things we want to do while doing the things we don't want to talk about!  Spending a lifetime trying to accumulate a certain amount of wealth in order to perhaps live long enough to enjoy it someday is not a paradigm we identify with.  We realized we don't need much in this life to be truly happy and accumulate life experience and perspective instead of resource wealth.  We also feel like we have much to give back to the world and wanted to establish a social vehicle for sharing our travels, documenting the experience, and making lasting connections with our Patrons and the people we meet along the way!!

Why Patreon?
We have been able to set aside a modest savings from the sale of our house to purchase our vessel and do the required upgrades, and have enough left over to travel for at least a couple years on our own "steam". Our short-term goal is to sail to Mexico within the next year.  We want to bring you in on the action!! Our “Patrons” get special access to us and our content, and it's a great way to get directly involved in our travels and fun Rewards!!

We are your virtual, vicarious vehicle for sailing to exotic destinations and sharing our unique perspective.  Any contributions to this project by our Patrons mean the world to us and will help us bring you closer to the adventure and further out into the big blue!!
