About Sara Barcus

I am an artist and illustrator in San Antonio, TX. I work in a variety of mediums and with a variety of different communities.  It is important to me that my work fosters connections, either individually between my work and the viewer or by focusing on projects which promote more community and collaboration.
Currently, my patreon will focus heavily on providing things like:
*supportive content: to help keep kids, parents, adults, all of us busy and connected. ex: draw alongs, ideas and projects to sustain more artistic collaboration and interaction personally and digitally, and other interactive projects designed to help keep us all connected digitally through a global crisis.
*additional free content: I'll be releasing a whole lot more content this weekend to give folks more stuff to do if they are stuck at home and need to take breaks from pandemic diligence.

As always, please message me if there are specific topics or projects you would like to hear more about.
Thank you for your support.
Stay Home. Stay Busy. Stay Connected.
Be Excellent to Each Other.

Any contributions would support the continuation of my work and help out as recent health issues have lessened my ability to work freelance.
Thank you for your interest in my work.

There Is Hope In This World
There is a long-term, large scale project on which I have been working called "There is Hope in this World".
The aim is to collect, illustrate, and explain the small and large things worth living for and worth fighting for in a world that can often be a daunting and bleak thing to look at.  To find the reminders that there is another view, of which, we can never lose sight.

As well as small illustrations, this series incorporates large scale works.  “Volume 1” showed in January 2017 at HíjoleSA Gallery.
Currently working on publishing Volume 1 as a book and continuing this series into more volumes.
