Hello, my name is Scott Alexander and I'm a photographer living in Columbia, South Carolina.  A little bit about me:

In the fall of 2007, I moved to South Beach and was immediately struck by the beauty and the dichotomy of the place.  Raw, sexy excess mixed with abandon and decay.  With my little point-and-shoot, I began photographing everything: the exotic cars, the art deco architecture, the urban fragmentia, the decay, and, of course, the people.  In early 2008, I bought a DSLR and began photographing models and found my passion and groove, translating what I saw in the street to fashion and fine art.

Over the years, I've shot for numerous private models, bikini and apparel companies, and have been in gallery shows here in the US and in Costa Rica.  I love what I do!  And for me, it's the art of it.  It's satisfying during a shoot when you get that one shot; that one shot that makes you glow inside.  I am forever grateful that I have been able to pursue this craft and follow a dream.

So what brought me to Patreon and why am I here?

Becoming a Patron: Funding Art

I am so grateful for the support and encouragement of friends, family, and fans.  Without their (and your) support, I wouldn't be here today.  And I want to take what I do to the next level and I'd like to ask for your support in getting there.

There are a number of different projects I'm working on right now and some I haven't yet begun.  And if history is any indication, there will be many more to come.  And this is where you come in!  Pledging support through Patreon.  By funding my art, you not only help me create but you help yourself as well!

Projects and Growth:
As I mentioned, I have a number of creative concepts I'd like to execute.  Mostly themed shoots, ranging from fashion to erotica, but I also want to funnel more energy into audio and video production.  I'm sitting on countless hours of video that I simply need to edit and make into viewable content.  And there are other projects, large and small, (roadshow, mobile app, calendar, coffee table books, etc.) that I'm pursuing

To what end, though?  Why the creation?  What's your end goal, Scott?  I enjoy the art of creation; everything about the creative process is soul-satisfying.  And when I can create something that moves or impacts people, in whatever way, it is so entirely worthwhile to me.  I want to create more worthwhile art.  And taking it further, I'd like to have a much broader reach, to gain a larger audience.

To do this, I need to move forward with a few items: I need to spend more time/money in marketing and advertising.  As my business grows, it's important to continue to reach out to new people and businesses and keep existing relations good.  Of course, maintenance and upgrades for all things digital and analog are always necessary.  Not just for wear and tear, but equally so for creative growth.

Reap the Rewards

I've been, as I think every artist should, funding the creation of all of my work almost entirely out of pocket for the past decade.  This is my passion and so I'm pursuing it.  Of course, I would greatly, greatly, greeaaaaatly appreciate ANY financial backing in bringing my visions to reality.  And while I've been so thankful in words in the past, I'd like to offer some nice perks as a reward for Patrons.  You can check them out on this page.  Since this model of patronage is fairly new to me, I'm totally open to suggestions on  rewards, too.  And if you have some concepts you want to throw my way, by all means, do.  I want this to be a winning situation for everyone involved.

Thank you so much for taking the time to consider becoming a Patron and, I can't say this enough, thank you so much for your continued support and encouragement through the years!
