There are about 14 drafts of a blog I’ve been trying to write since early 2018 titled “Writing Difficulties.”
Speaks for itself, really.
About a month ago, I was accepted into an MFA program that starts this summer. As a way of preparing for that program, I have been trying to get back into blogging on a regular basis and instead of merely posting stuff to WordPress, I thought I’d share some of my work here.
For the most part, this operates as a first-look at my posts before they arrive to WordPress – if they arrive to WordPress. But what I’m really hoping to do is share some of the stuff that I’ve really put my heart and soul into – stuff about my grandpa passing away, stuff about never feeling like I belong in any academic setting, or just some short stories that I think others might enjoy. I don’t know exactly. I’m new at this.
But I know that I want to write things so that others can read them. Actually, I want to do more than just write. Way back in the day, I’d draw little comic strips for fun (*especially* during classes I absolutely hated, like math). And ever since the TV production class got cut from my high school’s budget after my freshman year, I’ve wanted to get back into making little videos. Again, I’m new at this, but I’m trying to stay open minded about the creative process.
Because sometimes the things we want to share can’t be shared in all mediums; sometimes a poem works better or a short story or a drawing or a painting.
You get the idea.
First tier memberships get all the blog posts, comic doodles, and short YouTube videos. If it’s something I haven’t tried before, you’ll get the first look at that, too.
Second tier memberships get everything. But how is this different than what I mention above? There’s stuff I’m working on that’s way more personal and therefore likely never to be published on WordPress or YouTube.
Feel free to check out my few posts on WordPress here. And if you want to ride along in my creative journey, hit one of those subscription tiers and enjoy.
Thanks for stopping by!
