About

Welcome to Seoulinspired's Patreon Page!

My name is Ethan Brooke and I am an international student currently studying in South Korea. Originally from New Zealand I have a love for traveling and blogging (as well as photography!). In Korea I have been able to realise my passion for blogging and have been regularly posting for around a year now.

It's a hard balance attending school, working, and trying to manage a quality blog. Currently I try to publish around one post every week. This is a lot of work as original photos and content are required for each post, along with research, proof-reading and other essential aspects. All of the money that I make here will go towards increasing the quality of my blog.

I understand that many people can't financially support me, and that's okay. Any support at all is appreciated. However, for the people that support me here on Patreon I will provide special offers and content to. To see more details please have a look at the rewards on the right of the page!

Seoulinspired
As the name might suggest, Seoulinspired is a blog primarily focused on Seoul. While I do cover other locations too, Seoul is the main focus. I cover 'standard' travel blog articles such as places to visit, tourist hotspots, etc, but I also try to cover deeper issues and topics.

Recently I wrote two articles about the air pollution in Seoul. In an effort to create a resource for the foreigners in Korea, I wrote about the air pollution and about fine dust masks.

My goal in the future is to publish more articles like to two above. However, these articles take a long time to research and write. The two air pollution articles took over one week each. Any support I recieve on Patreon would go a long way to helping me be able to write more researched articles in the future.

Here are my future goals relating to Patreon:

  • I would like to be able to purchase a monthly subscription to Grammarly for thorough proof reading of each post.

  • I would like to be able to take occasional trips within Korea. These trips would be covered on my blog and it would allow me to cover much more than just Seoul.

  • I am considering starting to create videos. However, right now it is hard to produce videos alongside my blog without any pay for either. If I was able to make money via Patreon this would mean I could spend more time on content creation and work less hours.

There is a lot more that I would like to achieve in the future with my blog, however these are my current goals. I don't want to ask for money to achieve that, and I believe that Patreon is a great balance as it allows me to provide something in return.

Why Support me?

Why choose to support me over the many other content creators out there?

There are many blogs out there about Korea. However, something that I noticed while browsing them was that many of them only cover the superficial aspects of Korea. What I mean is that most of them are focused at tourists and visitors to Korea - the best places to visit, things to see, etc. While those topics are great, and I will cover many myself, I also want to cover some deeper and more controversial topics.

Life in Korea isn't perfect and I believe that it is my job as a creator to provide an honest opinion and to not sugarcoat the difficulties. While I do love Korea, I also want to share the harsher truths that are harder to find in other places. So while I do write articles aimed at tourists I also want to write articles about living in Korea, along with the positives and negatives of life here.

In my blog I try to craft visual stories to go along with my writing. All of the photos on my site (unless otherwise stated) are original and taken by me. This gives my blog a unique feel and separates it from the many other blogs out there. In the future I would love to expand this to videos too!

Conclusion

Thank you for reading this far. Whether you do or do not support me I appreciate you reading this. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to ask!
Goals
$46 of $100 per month
I will output four blog posts per month (or more!). This will cover all of my monthly blog costs - hosting, Grammarly, social media management such as Tailwind.
