Over the years, I have had the misfortune of losing close family members. Those losses stirred up a deep desire and need for an emotional and artistic outlet within me. I found that art was my way of manifesting these losses and transforming them into something beautiful. Throughout the years, I have painted (large abstract scenes), many hours using Photoshop, and I have played around with colors and shading in my own drawings. Although I have enjoyed these art forms, there was still a part of me that felt like something was missing.

Three years ago, I asked my husband for a woodburner for Christmas. From the first moment I heated up my starter woodburning pen, I was in love. Everything I have learned about woodburning, I have taught myself. I have watched videos, I have experimented with various tips, I have made mistakes and I have learned from those mistakes. I have used many different mediums, read many different articles, and most importantly, I have thrown myself head first into the beautiful and unique world of woodburning.
