My name is Shane W Smith, and I'm a graphic novelist based in Australia. I've got a Bachelor Degree in Creative Writing from the University of Canberra, and my oddest achievement is getting a comic published in a refereed academic journal. Four of my books have been shortlisted for awards, including the fan-favourite zombie-family-drama book Undad. I'm happily married with four small children and a full-time desk job... and I never sleep.

I've launched this Patreon page not only to fund a range of ambitious forthcoming projects, but also as a sustainable way to serialise and road-test works-in-progress for my keenest readers.

My latest graphic novel is a full-colour 500 page fantasy graphic novel called Triumviratus. Triumviratus will see a strictly limited hardcover release in late 2018, but won't be widely available until every page has been first posted to this Patreon page. As a patron, you will have exclusive access to these pages, delivered in monthly instalments.

Triumviratus is a book about duty, destiny, and three desperate people whose misadventures in love bring the world to its knees.

Three times he will prove his love for her. The third time will kill him.

In a world where violent magic is punished by the gods, mages have learned to use their powers for manipulation and deception instead.

Rynold has learned this lesson better than most.

But when, in a moment of jealousy, he misuses his sacred power to send Princess Mirelda's lover Damian into exile, he inadvertently rekindles an ancient evil that has lain dormant for a thousand years, waiting for its chance to awaken.

Chosen by the gods themselves to bring Damian back, Rynold and Mirelda leave their home in desperate pursuit of Damian, the fate of the entire world upon their shoulders. But as their long journey progresses, they come to learn that the greatest threat to them - and to the world - might well come from within...

Unrequited love often feels like the end of the world. This time, it really is.

Triumviratus paints a deeply personal love triangle against an epic fantasy backdrop, and will appeal to readers of fantasy who appreciate strong character drama driving a high-stakes story.

All 515 pages of Triumviratus are complete and, for the moment at least, this Patreon page is the only place you can read it.

If you like what you see, becoming a patron for $1 a month will get you exclusive access to the entire story as it's released.

Patrons at all levels will receive exclusive early access to at least 22 pages of comics each month from Triumviratus, months ahead of its publication, and from any other future project I launch (like my forthcoming space opera graphic novel The Winds of Change), as well as some additional content exclusive to this Patreon.

In addition, my entire back catalogue, along with a bunch of awesome behind-the-scenes content - concept work, completed pages, deleted scenes, scripts, workshops, and other content from all my books, past and present - and other perks are available at higher tiers.
