My name is Sharmaine Rayner and I am the artist. The arts have always been a big part of my life. I started dancing at a very young age and then moved into modeling and acting when I was a teenager. I was in performing arts schools since the 7th grade. I graduated from Hollywood High Performing Arts Magnet. (Side Note) Our final performance in my senior year was for our annual Alumni Assembly. After the performance I met Carol Burnett, who sat down and had lunch with me. She gave me a great deal of encouragement and closed out our lunch by doing her famous Tarzan Impression.
When I was starting college I got my first job at the Ripley's Believe it or Not! Museum in Hollywood. I became the General Manager in a short period of time and did not complete college as I was making a great salary and also working in the entertainment industry. It was an really fun and educational place to work for 3 years. I had some very unique experiences and met some very wonderful people with whom I am still friends with today.
In the past 18 years, my journey has taken me through work in the legal field, finance, life insurance, and credit repair. I was seduced by the illusion that being in these fields would provide me with everything I wanted. What I am grateful for is the vast amount of education I received from working in these fields, but they weren't fulfilling past the challenge of the education.
During same time I went on a long spiritual journey, trying out different churches, synagogues, the Kabbalah Centre, yoga, and explored other faiths. My spiritual journey only showed me that the life in the corporate world was not what was going to bring me any real fulfillment.
In 2015, I took nearly a month long trip to Italy and by the time I returned to Los Angeles, I knew that something needed to change. I began drawing, then experimenting with painting. I watched every Bob Ross lesson on Netflix, painting techniques on YouTube. I also became a member of the Visionary Arts Academy and learned even more. I began to read blogs and articles from other artists. I read a BLOG Post on Facebook (I do not have the link to credit the writer yet) and took away 3 points...
1. An artist completes the piece. 2. Paint everyday. 3. The artist exhibits the work, knowing that with continued work, the work will get better. I decided to apply these points and I sat down and built this website to share my work. Within a few days I received my first commission, then a few weeks later my second commission. I posted photos I had taken and 6 of them were quickly chosen by Getty Images.
In all things we do, we have to know our "Why". My purpose and mission for creating art are healing; the act of creation (which is the true connection to source energy); to break through my own barriers and expand my consciousness; to spiritually connect; to share and pay forward the magical gift of art and all of the ways it transforms us.
My mission is to bring you extraordinary value, perspective, and beauty. Thank you for visiting my site. I am so grateful for your time and interest. If you like my work and would like to become a patron, please do.  I would be so grateful for your support!  If you have any questions or comments, or you would like to commission me to work... please feel free to reach out.

Goals
0% complete
I would like to set up my art gallery on Art Market Storefronts.  The platform has a great community of printers, framers, and other production specialist that can facilitate the production of high quality prints for me to offer art buyers and enthusiasts.  The start-up cost is between $1000-$1500 and the monthly fee is $30.  I would really appreciate your support in reaching this goal as quickly as possible.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support!
