About
I come from a musical family- my great grandfather was a hoedown fiddler & a Master Mason,my grandmother was a singing cowgirl who played guitar and banjo ukulele, and I had a cousin who played piano and accordion. With all that background, how could I not be a musician? I took up guitar at 11 and once fully into adulthood,I started exploring other instruments, including mandolin, 5 string banjo, and autoharp. I also play some fiddle and banjitar.
I have tried my best to make it in this world by working regular jobs and discovered they are not my life's calling. I'm rather like a square peg in a round hole in those environments not to mention the last job I had cut back everyones hours so badly it was no longer worth working there. Two days a month after 9 years of service. This opened a door of opportunity I had to walk thru. So I decided to take a chance and do what I have felt called to do most of my life....music. Which means I left my job to follow my path.
Please know I do not charge for viewing my utube videos but if you would care to pledge after seeing one, think of it as "cyber busking"......you get to toss a cyber donation as a way to say "thank you" for seeing me play one of my tunes.

Howdy! I'm a Native Californian that has decided to walk her Dharma of being a mandolin teacher and multi instrumentalist. I also play and teach Appalachian Dulcimer and banjo among other instruments.
Author of a blog called "The Mystic Banjo Sisterhood" the aim of which is to provide an avenue of mystically wonderful inspiration for folk, bluegrass,Celtic and old time musicians who follow a spiritual path. The link to it is here.
To say I'm crafty is an understatement. I make mandolin/dulcimer straps in many different prints and colors. Visit my booth here to not only see the straps I sell, the cool music books and accessories.
And I want to give a huge thanks to my past music teachers that really made a mark on me in a good way: Phil Boroff (classical guitar) Dave Zeitlin (guitar fingerpicking) and Barry Solomon (flatpicking guitar) I am able to do this thanks to your taking the time to teach a very insecure and high strung teen age girl. You gave her some of the best moments of her teen years!
I want to inspire other musicians in these genres as well. I left my "not where I should be" part time job a couple of years ago to live the life I want to by making my way in the world doing what I was born to do....sharing traditional music with as many people as I can in addition to teaching women how to play different instruments. This includes teaching beginning mandolin,folk/blues guitar,(fingerpicking) and viola via Facebook video chat..mainly to women as many have had negative experiences with well meaning but impatient male friends and/or relatives who attempted to teach an instrument.
So I like to take the woman who wants to play guitar, etc and get her to pick it up and learn to play in an atmosphere of nurturing, patience, and understanding. My goal is to take their inner muse that's in a cocoon and get it to grow till it bursts forth as a gorgeous sounding butterfly!
Your Patronage supports my creative practice and enables me to not only make a living as a musician, but to open the ears of folks who have never heard traditional music before, and encourage those listeners to take up playing their own music. It will also help pay for:

- Paying for my annual license that allows me to teach,do busking, and sell CDS,etc legally.
- Being a living example proving that you can create the life you want and live it happily once you allow God to be in charge.
