About
Simrat Khalsa grew up in what had been the Byrdcliffe Arts Colony in Woodstock, NY. The area was still filled with artists
of various kinds, and her father was a painter and commercial artist. Simrat
studied art throughout her childhood and into college at both Simon’s Rock
Early College and the University of Oregon. Through the years, Simrat has
created work in diverse media: photography, artist books, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, drawing, and painting; which is her current focus. She works out of
her studio in Pleasant Hill, OR.

I am an artist, primarily a painter, living in
the Willamette Valley of western Oregon. Nature abounds here with wildlife
outside my door, tall trees, deer, birds, and yes, horses. These things make their way
into much of my work.
I've just wrapped up my project, A Painting a Day for Thirty Days. It is a series of 8x10 canvases averaging one painting per day for 30 days. I mostly painted outside with oil paints. Hand ground oils are my favorite, as they are made from luscious natural pigments for mellow tones that fit with the nature around me.
As I reach the next few milestones, I’ll draw a name from the current patrons. That person can have their choice of the remaining paintings from the series. In the meantime, they are also for sale.
If you like what I do, and want me to do more of it, please Become a Patron. Click the button at the left. It’s easy! In exchange, you will have chances at art giveaways, and first choice of new work for sale.
Please share this page! You can also share individual posts from the Creator Posts link above. The more patrons who sign up, the faster and more often I’ll be giving art away.
Of course, I’ll always have work for sale. I’m updating my website now to include a shopping cart and searchable gallery. So stay tuned. And if you aren't familiar with my work, check out my Facebook page for more examples.
How Patreon Works...
Patreon is crowdfunding, but unlike Kickstarter or Indigogo, it’s ongoing, not based on just one big project. I think it’s a wonderful way to support artists. I will do my very best to provide value to my you, my patrons, and I welcome ideas from you on how to best do that. Feel free to comment and let me know what you like, and what you don't.
Just click the Become a Patron button at the top left and choose your level of support. Even a dollar a month would be wonderful! You can choose your level of support and change it at any time.
Thank you so very much!
