Absinthe.
Yes. Absinthe.
I have a bottle in my flat, given to me by a friend. I promised myself I would be good and ONLY summon the green fairy in a social situation. But... Patreon is social! Right? YES. TOTALLY. So! If this milestone is reached, I will bring forth the fairy, I will give you a say as to what I should create (while under the.. hrrrm.. influence...), and then we see what happens! We may give birth to a MASTERPIECE together. ...Or a damp splodge of mudlike textures on some paper. Care to find out? >:D

Let's UP that monthly page-count, shall we?
Bloomin' 'eck! Well, it's safe to say that if this goal is reached, Jen can put some more time aside for Skal! So instead of aiming for 1-2 pages per month, we go for 2-3 pages per month!
Sort out skalsaga.tumblr.com!
EDITED GOAL~ Now that Skal is on TUMBLR, we can properly start to sort out the 'smaller' kinks that I just haven't had time to deal with before! I'll do some designy things to the page to make it less basic, add sections like 'Cast' and generally make the reading experience much better!
YOUR FACE. I like it. Can I have it?
Because I love you so much, I will write down all the names of my patrons, put them in a little hat and then pick one random patron who will get his/her face drawn into the next appropriate scene in Skal! (like a crowd scene in a tavern or bazaar for example. Whatever may crop up!)
Drunka-Doodle-Doo ROUND TWO~!
With the last drunken-doodle-twitter-marathon being quite the success story (I didn't even throw up!), if we reach this milestone, I will do ROUND TWO! Once again, Jen will poison herself and paint until she collapses, with the amazing(?) results being posted to random patrons! Yes, I'll bring out the stylish lantern for this one too ;D
STOP SUCKING AT LETTERING.
I mean, let's just be honest here. The weakest part of my comic is the digital lettering that I slap on top at the end. It's functional, but it's not great, is it? If we reach this Milestone, I'll look into perhaps having my handwriting made into my own personal Skal font? Or making my speech bubbles slightly textured? At the very least, I will take time to go over the lettering of the entire comic again to improve it somehow!
What is this weird sensation? Is it... STABILITY? Knowing I have a roof over my head? I like roofs. Mmm.
*picks jaw off the floor* Uhm. Well. This.. This is half my monthly rent. I'm not sure I can explain properly how much this particular Goal would mean to me. But that's not the interesting bit. What we really want to know is how this would affect Skal! First off, I would probably be able to devote much more time to the comic! I will never rush pages, but I can see my productivity going WAY up if I'm sure to have a roof over my head for the coming month! Also, as thanks, I will pick 4 random patron names from a hat and draw their pretty faces into the next appropriate scene in the comic!
My rent. o_o...
...At this point, maybe I should just bottle my tears of shock and send them out to patrons. That'd be suitably creepy. (I WON'T ACTUALLY DO THAT. Please don't leave me :D)
(And Yes, I know renting in the UK is ludicrously expensive if you live in a city :'D)
If this goal is close to being reached, I will think of something quite special to do for my amazing patrons! <3

SKAL is an online graphic novel, set in an Arabian-inspired desert fantasy world.

‘The Monastery feared Mushirah. They feared her so much that they threw her in a prison cell, stitched her mouth shut and set her execution date.
Bundled into a caravan by an unknown ally, we follow her journey to the big city that could become her sanctuary, chased by Monastic mercenaries who will stop at nothing to carry out her death sentence.'

Skal is both written and illustrated by yours truly. I use traditional mediums like watercolours, inks and pencil… And I have been known to dabble in a bit of collage!
I have chosen to label it NSFW on Patreon due to the upcoming content including nudity, sex, violence/blood and gore. So it isn't suitable for the younglings!
Skal is, and always will, remain FREE to read online. Both the Prologue and Issue 1 have been completed and I have begun my work on Issue 2, uploading each page as it is finished. My webcomic-content being free to view is something I will always stick by… which unfortunately has meant that Skal has had to take a backseat for several months due to paid work needing my attention!
This is where your support comes in!
If you like what I do and want to see me continue on a much more regular basis, consider becoming a patron!
It's very simple. Every time I finish a page and upload it, you can choose to give as little as £0.59 in support of me and my project! :D My Patron-Only section has quite a few extras too!

"We cannot stress enough just how stunning the artwork is on this comic. Jennie has a really beautiful artistic style, her use of watercolour gives everything a really dream-like quality. Every panel is a delight, full of intense detail and sumptuous imagery."

"SKAL is a dark erotic drama, with splashes of humour, set in an exotic world that gradually reveals the mystery surrounding Mushirah’s identity. (...) I like what I’ve seen so far of this new web comic, although I have to stress, it’s not for the faint hearted, but it does look pretty stunning in my book."
- John Freeman, Down The Tubes http://downthetubes.net/?p=15120
"SKAL has enormous potential, a beautifully realised fantasy, lush in both art and imagination. But the main thing holding it back is a financial need, and that need is depriving us of more pages."
- Richard Bruton, Forbidden Planet International http://www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk/blog/2014/skal/
"I’ll say right here that I like how she’s written her women."
- Brian Richmond, Writer of TheSisters-comic.com http://brianrichmondwriting.tumblr.com/post/120707...
"This book looks like nothing else on the market. Jennie is an extraordinary, one of a kind artist who shifts gear from watercolour to pencil and back with tremendous grace. Crucially, none of the detail is lost either and the world her characters inhabit is one where information hangs in the air like pollen. (...) This is a lush, detailed introduction to a world and a story that has some big plans. Hop aboard now, and watch one of the best artists in the business work. You won’t be disappointed."
