Hey there! You may know me as SlaveDeMorto, PrettyPonyPlot or simply as Backymod (aka Mod of Ask-Backy). I am a hobbyist digital artist, I use Bamboo MTE-450 and SAI to draw everything (in case you are wondering. You might ask yourself "Why is this person on Patreon anyway?"
Answer is pretty easy. Even though people always say "money won't make you happy" and "you can't buy happiness", I don't think so. Money is a great thing and if you have enough of it, you may make your dreams come true. And obviously money is important for living (food, shelter). So basically if you become my Patreon, you will support me with money (duh). I don't know if Patreon will be enough to cover my living one day, but the bigger pledging is, the lesser I need to worry about drawing commissions and focus on updates of a blog.
You see that ugly thing right? Its a header for my sfw-ish and adult-ish Tumblr Ask-Backy that I drew in april 2013. And since that date its been out there with me being lazy enough to draw something more decent. But I was motivated enough to update Backy almost every day for years (starting 7th february 2012). It is a hard thing to do and I sometimes lose a lot of my motivation in making updates. Since it always takes my free time to find a decent question, draw a reply and stuff. But - money is a great stimulus and by becoming my Patreon you will make me happier, more motivated and in fact capable of investing my time into Ask-Backy everyday.
Why are milestones that big? Do you expect to reach them?
I think I might reach them at some point indeed. Honestly these are just milestones. I spend a huge deal of my free time updating Ask-Backy and adding anything from a milestone will increase the time I spend on updates greatly. I am sorry that these milestones are that, big but if I ever reach any of them, it would definitely stress me more because of the format change. More efforts, less free time to rest and to do actual stuff that must be done.
Am I obligated to become your patreon?
Nope. I am not charging you for following me or my blogs, Patreon is (but a simple argonian maid) just a way of supporting artists like me. Patreon is not a paywall. Ask-Backy will remain free for everyone. Sure there might be some Patreon only features such as early updates posted here, but you don't have to become patreon to fully experience my ask-blog.
Important notice:
If any of milestones are reached or any awards at the time, stuff will happen only in the next month when everyone are billed. Just to make sure I won't do stuff for people who will cancel theirs Patreon once they get what they want. Sorry for troubles.
