Milestone Goals
New Microphone
As a musician, I'm using the equipment I have laying around the house. But I could really improve the audio quality of the show with a better microphone or two.
Better Editing Software
I use my computer's built-in GarageBand program to edit each story, but I could do a better job with levels and overall sound design if I upgraded to even an inexpensive version of ProTools.
Road Trip!
Song Story is based in Asbury Park, NJ, but so many great songwriters are located outside of the Garden State. I'd love to take a Song Story road trip this summer to Birmingham, Nashville, Memphis, Louisville, and anywhere else where great music is thick on the ground.
Longer Show
My vision for Song Story includes having about 3-4 segments per episode, not just the one-at-a-time I'm releasing right now. Help me build Song Story into a half-hour show!
Radio Show
I love public radio and would love to develop Song Story for broadcast. That means a 1-hour show (including time for station breaks) with a full play-through of each song after the segment. The first season will have 13 episodes.
Song Story Live! tour
I regularly host Song Story Live! events in Asbury Park, NJ. But wouldn't it be great if I could take the show on the road and come to your city? It would. It would be great. The answer to that question was "yes."
Quit my dayjob
A pretty unlikely goal, but I would be able to devote all of my time to music and Song Story if I were taking in this kind of money through Patreon. It's a goal. I can dream.

Who am I?
I'm Eric Ginsberg, a singer, songwriter, and storyteller based in Asbury Park, NJ. When I write a song, it's usually a snapshot of a bigger story or experience – an out-of-context puzzle piece of my life. Motivated to learn more about what makes other songwriters tick, I launched Song Story.
Who are you?
Someone who likes songs, podcasts, music, carbon-based life on Earth, and/or Song Story and wants to see it all continue forever and ever.
How can you help?
Song Story is a homemade labor of love, but it still costs me money to make and takes an enormous amount of my time – time that I should probably be devoting to my day job instead. But if you become a Patron of Song Story, I'll be able to afford the cost and time to keep making it.
How does it work?
Patreon is kind of like Kickstarter, except instead of funding a big project and hoping it gets made, you only get charged when I post a new episode, about once a week.
How much should you pledge?
Become a Patron at whatever per-episode amount you're comfortable pledging. You can change your pledge amount up or down at any time, and even set a monthly cap to stay within your budget. And the more you pledge, the more you get (and the more I'm able to create). See the pledge levels below:
