About Sam Hughes
What is The Sound Architect?
The Sound Architect is an audio journalistic site that covers voiceover, music and sound design in games, film, TV, (although mostly games). The main way this is done is via The Sound Architect Podcast, where Sam interviews these audio professionals about their careers, their experiences and their projects.
Who are you and why are doing this?
My name is Sam Hughes and I'm currently an Audio Designer at Remedy Entertainment (Control). I setup the podcast back in 2013 (Yikes!) as a way of learning my craft and finding out more about what I love from the awesome people who made the games, movies etc that I love and sound amazing! I've always wanted to grow within the industry and give back to the community, so I see this as my way to do that.
How often do you upload?
It does vary, but we still upload on average a minimum of one podcast a month. I work full-time and do this completely in my spare time and on my own dime. I would love to dedicate more time to this, however that's where Patreon helps.
Why Patreon?
This page is strictly a way for people to support The Sound Architect and gain special behind the scenes access where possible.
Our Impact
We get many professionals around the world citing the site and the podcast as a great resource to hone their crafts, whether it be sound design, voice acting, composing or others.
It's so heartwarming to hear that the podcast helps in any way and these are the kind of stories that explain why I run The Sound Architect and I really want to keep it going as long as possible.
Any support will all go into The Sound Architect for equipment, editors, events, competitions as well as just keeping the lights on and covering my time and efforts for making it!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
