The St. Louis Speaks Podcast is the freshest thing to hit the Lou since Bread Co's Pumpkin Muffies. Host Umar Lee brings to the podcast scene a street level knowledge and experience that connects with every guest he speaks to. He seeks to be non-partisan and largely the show has held to that since episode one. Our guests may be opinionated, our hosts may be opinionated, but nobody is denied a seat at the table for their beliefs.*

*Umar is non-partisan with few exceptions: He does champion provel cheese, Vess soda and the St. Louis Cardinals.

The podcast has grown mightily in just two months on a bare bones budget. We've hit big names like St. Louis Post Dispatch columnist Tony Messenger or former St. Louis Comptroller Virvus Jones and we've hit gold with such talks as Stef Russell of St. Louis Magazine's guest interview of former collections director at the State Historical Society of Missouri, Zelli Fischetti. With a spate of interviews still to be aired from across the region and ambitions to expand into a print supplement bringing on voices from all over St. Louis in poetry and storytelling, St. Louis Speaks is truly on a roll.

If you've been with us from the beginning (the Facebook group) you know that we're all about discussion--and sometimes these can get heated, bringing in voices of city officials and concerned citizens alike. That's why we set out to recreate some of those same discussions in the form of live podcast events. That's our way of saying thanks for sticking by us the first two months.

Tiers
Vess Cream Soda
$5 or more per month
If you help out the podcast at the Cream Soda Vess level you're saying, "I'm with you guys but for reasons, be it financial or personal, I'm just not quite ready to snuggle up and get sweet with you."

That's okay. If you support us at this level, we'll return the flavor our way:

-1 can of Vess soda (Flavor of your choosing) to be delivered at the first live podcast event you attend in St. Louis (or if you're a long distance listener, we'll mail it)

PLUS

-1 1oz bag of Red Hot Riplets to keep you well fed while you listen to the podcast in the coffee shop, park or wherever we're hosting the live podcast event on the date you choose to  attend.

PLUS

-Access to exclusive patron only monthly podcasts featuring a variety of personalities from politics to activism and academia. You won't want to miss these interviews, we wouldn't make you pay for them if they weren't special.

Root Beer Vess
$10 or more per month
Now we're talking! You've sipped the cream soda and decided it's not sweet enough, you want more. Donate at this level and we're going to make it worth the extra $5.
