Hello! I'm Laeza and I'm the creator of Story Unlocker, a translation blog.

Story Unlocker has two main purposes:
  1. Make Japanese stories in the public domain accessible to the English-speaking world. I will mostly focus on mystery novels.
  2. Translation of interviews of Japanese creators. The focus will mostly be on Japanese mystery novelists, and to a lesser extent Japanese animation staff
In 2017 I started translating a short story compilation by Ookura Teruko (1886 - 1960), Japan's first female detective novelist, and will at least translate one short story by Kouga Saburou (1893 -1940), one of the most popular mystery writers of his time.

Please see the Projects page for more information.
