Wow! That's a lot of my dreams and passions and I don't get paid for it beyond a few random pennies here and there.

That's where Patreon can help.

Why Patreon?
Patreon is a place where fans can give as little as $1/month to support artists and other creators by paying them a monthly fee, giving them a chance to earn a living and delivering awesome content to you.

With support from Patrons like you, I get the chance to break the chains and say whatever I want, when I want about anything.

I can also tailor my Patreon page to meet goals, offer rewards and interact with you. I can offer Patron-only content and set-up fun, interactive events and activities like server gameplay, chat sessions and more.

The Who I am and Why Should You Care?
I've been around the Blogosphere and Game Journalism sphere for about six years, writing for MMORPG.com, Massively.com, GameBunny, The MMO Gamer and many more sites. I've learned a lot about the reality of the gaming industry and business and seen a lot of the same gaming techniques both on the business and gamer side come and go.

I've learned a lot in my short time talking with developers, dealing with PR, reviewing games and seeing the ups, downs and repeats of industry standards and business models. I want to back-off and re-focus on providing fun content that is riddled with my trademark educational and highly philosophizing and informative discussions.

What you typically get from me
Most of my game videos typically contain a high-volume of non-stop banter about video game design, comparisons to many other games, mechanics and design elements I'm familiar with, as well as how and/or why game elements may be affected or catering to business models I'm familiar with.

In the past, I've done lots of Let's Play and category-specific video-game highlights. I've done 5-Minute Adventures where I played super-quick minutes of MUDs and other games to highlight specific aspects of games you can get micro-fun from.

I did a show called Browsy, highlighting fun and often hard-to-find or unknown browser-based games.

I've also done player-centric videos like Dungeoneering where I highlighted player-made homes and dungeons from Everquest 2 and Vanguard:Saga of Heroes

And many other shows.

Rewards

I don't have any rewards at this stage of the game, but you never know. This is a reboot. StratX.

I do have a Patron-only Vlog as a thank you and special treat for helping support me. Thank you!

Basic money/needs breakdown

These goals and average needs could also change depending on how much I can bring in through other streams of revenue.

I'll try out goal milestones in the immediate to near future, but the upper-most tier, which is unfortunately in many ways, also the minimum basic tier is approximately:

One-thousand five hundred dollars per month

It sounds like a lot, but sadly that's just enough to comfortably meet the basics and slightly reduce the stress of knowing I'll have a roof over my head. But it also means full-time dedication to you. It also guarantees a vast improvement in the quality and consistency of what I'm currently doing.

At that level of income, I'd likely be working over eight hours per day to maintain a large community and company-driven website with multiple authors to manage, creating articles, videos, twitch streams, podcasts and more on a full-time, regular basis, IN ADDITION to creating my own videos, podcasts and writings, IN ADDITION to working on related side projects(RPG Maker game(s) etc..), managing or attending conventions and writing books. Whew!

As I'm sure you're aware, it can be painfully difficult to maintain consistency – arguably the most important part of maintaining an online presence when you have to have one or more jobs that eat into your time and zap you of your creativity. With help from you and creating multiple streams of income, I could see my dream come true and possibly save a little money for the day I'm too old to drive a car or walk across the street by myself.

Thank you ever so much for reading this and most of all for actually being willing to give freely of your hard-earned money for someone else's dream. I'll try to repay you in honest, hard work and terrific content!
