Weekly gaming-news Podcast
A thoughtful weekly Podcast covering my choice picks of juicy gaming-news from the current week, giving my opinions on business, why I like or dislike the latest game, why I am for or against different business practices in the industry anything else that strikes my fancy or you want to hear about.
Guaranteed weekly video
This will guarantee some consistency that you can count on at least one well-made video-game video a week. It most likely would be a first-impressions/playing video, but could be an edited first-look at the coolest, newest game, a part of a playthrough series on a new or older game, a combination edited video-game topic or more, but it will have the StratX seal of approval. Guaranteed!
My website with a daily post
I'll setup a website and have at least one post a day(maybe I'll surprise you with more sometimes). This is helpful for opinions that just can't wait for my weekly podcast or if there's too much news to fit into it.
Two, high-quality game videos a week(and maybe a Vlog)
Get two! high-quality video-game videos a week. I pump out videos as much as I can, even now, but I am highly subject to varied quality due to needing to work around a lot. Making this much, I'll be able to dedicate the time I need to really polishing the quality of my videos. I also could start a weekly Vlog that would center on more silly, yet fun stuff, like my top-ten favorite retro games, etc...
Push it to the next level in all ways
At this level I can really start looking to pushing the envelope and have the time and money to better improving anything I do overall. Whether it's my podcast, videos or writing - I'll be able to have more time for research, planning, editing and more. This level will also be the "break-out" level for me to work full-time on my book and planned multi-author Indie/Retro gaming website as well. Things suddenly become a lot easier now.
Freedom from the man, slavery to YOU
This is the minimum, comfortable living tier and just the beginning of where hopes and dreams could skyrocket to. At this level, I'll likely be working a lot, but this time it will be largely around what YOU want to see or hear from me. I'll still be me and have my personality, but you're signing my paychecks so... tell me what you want master!
About
Jeremy Stratton grew up console gaming since the NES and was immediately swallowed by the RPG genre. He’s more recently been catching up on older cRPG, strategy, turn-based and other genre classics through Steam. As a former English major and full-time word-nerd he’s used an obsession with writing to Blog since the days one could turn on a computer and hear the iconic AOL greeting “You’ve got mail”.
He’s been writing about video games for over six years now, starting with his personal site How To Lose Your Life To An MMORPG and before that Emergency Trap. He’s written numerous articles for MMORPG.com, Game Bunny, The MMO Gamer, MMOHub, MMO Voices and a gig at Massively(now MassivelyOP) – you can still read his Massively articles on Engadget. He’s been on gaming podcasts, Google Hangouts and generally tries to worm his way into anything he can. Jeremy has also been uploading game content to his old YouTube channel for years, but has started over with his new channel.
Jeremy loves languages, learning, Eastern culture, photography and experimenting wildly with cooking.

A little about me
Hello
and thanks for checking out my Patreon page. I'm Jeremy Stratton (AKA
StratX) and I like to make stuff and things. The What I do TL;DR
I'm making and launching a fancy Indie and Retro gaming Blog with multiple writers. I pump-out video game reviews, partial and full playthroughs, first impressions of new stuff and thanks to new equipment have been making my videos snazzier and snazzier everyday. I'm trying to start a regular podcast, a video-cast and a personal hub to centralize my content and link to my other projects. I'm also writing a Post-Apocalyptic, Sci-Fi love/hate story. I am trying to do a lot of of jawsome stuff. I'm hoping my Patreon and other sources can help me deliver all this jawsome goodness to your eyeballs and ear holes.

I have hundreds of videos, articles and more you can easily find and check out to get an idea of who I am, my personality and more.
I'm not sure the exact year I got started Blogging about video games, but it was roughly two-thousand seven when I started a general MMO Blog I called "How To Lose Your Life To An MMORPG". I wrote that for the better part of a year when I jumped to Massively.com(now MassivelyOP). You can still read my articles on Engadget.
I've had some guest appearances on various gaming podcasts and Google Hangouts since my ~three year stint at Massively. I also maintained my own Blog called JustOneMMOre for years after. I also still produce content on my YouTube channel.
I'm focused more on indie and retro gaming nowadays, but one thing about me has never changed; I have a strange, eccentric desire to come up with hair-brained ideas concerning gaming content and I never stop talking.
What I'm doing(or: What I'm trying To Do)
Although the majority of videos have been somewhat standard fair, I've done the best I could with a low to no budget. Recently I've been changing this by investing in nice recording equipment and software to spearhead a new attempt at being slightly above mediocre.
But you can never say I don't try. With your help, I can focus more time and effort on making my wacky and crazy ideas come to life. Some crazy dreams I had in the past included a trivia game show podcast where every week I'd get three guests on Google Hangouts to laugh hysterically as we played a trivia game on the latest weeks hot-topics in the gaming world, while informing and entertaining you. I think I had dubbed it Gaming Roulette.
I also had a crazy notion of combining the likes of the TV show Survivors with the game WURM Online by having teams compete in timed building and survival challenges with a massive dose of editing to have competitor opinions and progress reports spliced in with fancy, over-the-top graphic models to represent and keep track of all the teams and their efforts.
I don't know if those ideas will ever come to reality(Although Gaming Roulette is very possible), but that should give you an idea of the crazy ideas I have. Crazy? Maybe, but I think it proves I never stop trying to innovate and create.
Gaming Videos
Apart from wanting to have a full-featured and rounded offering of content for you, videos are my meat and potatoes right now. I have nice, new equipment that reduces my work-time, while drastically increasing the quality of my videos. You should know what to expect from this category, but if you don't know me personally, you'll often be rewarded with my eccentric look at video games and the video game industry from how a game works, how I'd improve it, to my current views on the industry(especially concerning MMOs) and my insistence on beating a dead horse about the constant lost potential within the games industry for more interesting social interactions. Or, even, what causes us to just act and think the way we do when we play games. Why do people spend so much time playing MMOs and how do we each see them from our viewpoint and why.
I'm spreading my wings a bit and trying to make my game videos more entertaining, but people who've loved watching me seem to like the way I already am. I don't know if that's because I am obstinate or look at games very differently or if it's just my own personality, but I'll try not to lose that, while trying new things.
I'd love to start making my videos more flashy with lots of extra graphical elements, picture-in-picture, overlays, special F/X and just a lot of editing to make them more enjoyable to watch.
Podcast
A weekly podcast talking about MMOs and any other game, current events or happenings in the gaming industry. I tend to be somewhat cynical and pessimistic sometimes about business and people seem to love controversy, so maybe this will appeal to some of you.
Website
Congratulations! If you made it this far, you can read how I have a not-so-side side project in the works that could very well be very huge and depending how things go, I'll either have time or won't have time to work on it.
It would be nice to make at least a simple, central hub for you on my personal stuff, but I also am working on a major Indie and Retro gaming website with multiple authors. You'll learn more about that as time goes by.
Rewards
I don't have any rewards at this stage of the game, but you never know. This is a reboot. StratX.
I'm trying to launch consistent, high-quality video content, a new Blog and write a book(although the book is ancillary to my gaming content).
Basic money/needs breakdown
These goals and average needs could also change depending on how much I can bring in through other streams of revenue.
I'll try out goal milestones in the immediate to near future, but the upper-most tier, which is unfortunately in many ways, also the minimum basic tier is approximately:
One-thousand five hundred dollars per month
It sounds like a lot, but sadly that's just enough to comfortably meet the basics and slightly reduce the stress of knowing I'll have a roof over my head. But it also means full-time dedication to you. It also guarantees a vast improvement in the quality and consistency of what I'm currently doing.
At that level of income, I'd likely be working over eight hours per day to maintain a large community and company-driven website with multiple authors to manage, creating articles, videos, twitch streams, podcasts and more on a full-time, regular basis, IN ADDITION to creating my own videos, podcasts and writings, IN ADDITION to working on related side projects(RPG Maker game(s) etc..), managing or attending conventions and writing books. Whew!
As I'm sure you're aware, it can be painfully difficult to maintain consistency – arguably the most important part of maintaining an online presence when you have to have one or more jobs that eat into your time and zap you of your creativity. With help from you and creating multiple streams of income, I could see my dream come true and possibly save a little money for the day I'm too old to drive a car or walk across the street by myself.
Thank you ever so much for reading this and most of all for actually being willing to give freely of your hard-earned money for someone else's dream. I'll try to repay you in honest, hard work and terrific content.
