Kris Asick Jazz Jackrabbit on the GBA, Commander Keen on the GBC... old PC shareware games NEVER translated well to the portable format. :P I actually have a mod kit I've never had a chance to use that I got for super-cheap that lets you alter a regular GBA so you can play it on a TV through composite video outputs. I really should pick up a regular old GBA at some point so I can try it out. :B

Lazy Game Reviews Only shareware game that was any good on portables was Duke Nukem. Not a bad translation of Duke Nukem II! And yeah, that kind of mod sounds awesome. Though the Gameboy Player for the Gamecube works nicely for that as well :)

Spence Pretty nice, I don't really have the funds to drop on something like this though. I do have my old GBA though, I should look into getting a mod kit at some point. I agree that the wide version just feels better than the SP ever did. It was only the back-light that made that the better model in the first place. Well, I suppose the flip cover helped protect the screen too, but I'd be OK without that.

Larry Thomas Davis How do you keep track of all your games and computers. Are you using some type of database application? I use a php, mysql web system to keep track of my books and movies.

David Pruitt Hey LGR I remember that you live near Arden, and if you don't mind taking a small trip there is a Goodwill in Hendersonville (or maybe you've already been there). Just thought I'd throw that out to ya.

darkmage0707077 "OK, it's detected the mouse-" *video buffer error* See?! This is why you do what the instructions tell you: the creators of this mouse were obviously clairvoyant wizards who saw the rise of youtube and knew this would happen!

Kris Asick Glad to hear the other games that are now missing will be coming back. I sent 3D Realms an eMail about this yesterday and hadn't heard back yet. :P Many of the games in the pack are indeed still free on the website so you don't have to buy the pack to get them. As for me personally, it would cost me about $40 to buy each non-free game individually that I'm still missing... which is what the cost of the pack will be in about 8 hours if I'm interpreting the timer on the website correctly so... I'll probably just wait to buy the specific games I'm missing for when I plan to review them. :B

RetroSwim [Brendan] Now that I've played it. Eugh. I'd forgotten how badly stock DOSBox mangles Apogee's PC speaker sounds. Keen 1-3 and Duke 1 are particularly bad. Might write them an email about that, maybe get them to include an option to use ykhwong's CVS build or something.
