About Superconductor Classical and Opera

Paul Pelkonen passed away suddenly on June 12, 2019. He was loved by many and is deeply missed.

Hi. I'm Paul Pelkonen. Superconductor is the blog that I launched way back in 2007. Seems like a minute ago in terms of the Internet but in fact it's been ten years and lots of hard work. I'm launching this Patreon as a way for you, my readers to help support this publication, which (with one or two exceptions) has been written entirely by me.

It's a lot of work, and I need your help.

On this page, I'll be putting up some links to classic pieces from the archives, some links to curated live performances and maybe even some posts that don't appear on the main blog, which you can still read at

Your contributions will help Superconductor continue to publish, continue to  flourish, and enable me to have the budget to travel to other cities (and maybe other countries) and help Superconductor grow for another ten years.

Thanks for reading!
