The channel actually started back in 2012, under a different name, back when I was running a local computer repair and IT company and it started life as the online channel for that business. However, due to a shift in focus I only actually made 2 (pretty awful) videos. After a rather long hiatus, the channel was relaunched back in November of 2017 and it's been growing steadily ever since.
The highlight so far has been one of the videos, a Raspberry Pi project creating an ultra-secure smart door lock system with (nearly) "three factor" authentication, winning an award! As you can imagine, like an excited school child I enthusiastically set about changing the bios on all the SoN and personal social channels to include "award-winning"... I mean, who wouldn't? ;-)
I try to create videos as frequently as possible for the channel, however it's not the full-time focus of my business. So if I said "a video a week" then I know I'd just let you down, hence the tongue-in-cheek tagline of "New Videos... every so often". I'd like to push one out once a week, and I certainly have enough ideas in the pipeline on my spreadsheet... but other work and family commitments mean this just isn't usually possible. However, sometimes (as I write this, for example) I work on longer, more in-depth and intricately edited videos - so if there's a longer wait between videos it may well mean that there's something really good to come. Plus, I tend to record in batch sessions so I have lots of good short-form content around the corner!
If you've read this far and you're considering supporting me and this channel, then a huge thank you! I'll do my very best not to let you down, and I really hope you enjoy the content. Your support, and the support of others, will help to keep this as a viable channel (no pun intended) for my business which will, in turn, mean I can create more, better and more consistent content for the channel so - hopefully! - everyone's a winner :)
