About

I like to create things that not only will bring joy to people when they see and/or hear them, but I also like to create things that inspire and motivate others!  I make, perform, and record music, but I also teach it and create different types of jams with a variety of levels for people to join in when I can. I have created and worked with numerous festivals to create and run contests and workshops and also have organized music festivals all with an idea of not only entertaining people, but also hoping to motivate and inspire as many people as I can. Even with many of the videos on my video channel, I have interviewed people that I think are truly inspirational, some of whom may be influential musicians, some of whom may have created beautiful and creative camping or hillbilly style technologies that I hope to share to inspire others to go ahead and start creating and running with their passions!

I am originally from the small town of Taylorstown, Virginia. I have spent a good portion of my life as a professional musician and music teacher, with my main focus in Bluegrass, Irish, and Swing Jazz styles. I also do photography, and making some videos. Many of my videos are on my YouTube Channel called "Mandolicious Music."  I helped to make one full length documentary called "The Mountain Music Project," which one can buy through my website or can watch on Amazon Prime (both links available at www.TaraLinhardt.com). I also lead Music, Arts, and Culture Tours to Nepal (www.MusicArtsAdventures.com).  For years I have helped to fund and create music education programs for disadvantaged youth in Nepal and to contribute to programs which seek to preserve and promote traditional music in the Nepali Himalayas. I enjoy creating and working with programs, camps, and festivals in the United States also which aim to preserve and promote traditional musics and arts. I have helped many people of all ages discover the fun and magic of making their music and art, or increasing their abilities in those realms and that brings me a lot of joy. For more info about me and to see some of my merchandise and downloads, interviews I have conducted, videos of me playing please go to my website. You can check it out and subscribe to getting some very occasional email blasts with upcoming highlights as well if you would like. I teach in person and online music lessons on mandolin, guitar, and ukulele. (The photo of loads of folks with mandolins above is from when I organized the breaking of the Guinness Book World's Record in 2012 for the World's Largest Mandolin Ensemble.) I greatly appreciate any donations to my work.  I generally try to make the world a better and more fun place for others where I can through music, photos, videos, educational, and cultural sharing so will try to use the money along with those pursuits. www.TaraLinhardt.com
