I originally listed this goal as 4 reviews per month. Looking at how I have been doing over the past 6 or so months, I have really struggled to get in more than 2 per month. I think it's more realistic to mark this goal as "I'll try for more than 2 reviews each month." 4 reviews per month was overly ambitious. Aiming for 3 and being o.k. with two will keep my from going crazy. :)

Upgrade video microphone.

$100 per video

My current mic is a decent low priced microphone, but its quality isn't great, requires a battery and produces background hiss. These are all I would like to eliminate. I would love to upgrade my lavalier mic to a much higher quality and your support would allow me to fund it.

I was able to use funds to get a Zoom H1 recorder and an Octopus Lavalier microphone. They have been an awesome improvement over my previous set up. Now, if I can learn to record and edit audio better... You know me. I'm working on it.

2 Terrain Tutorials Per Month.

$120 per video

I've been trying to produce high quality tutorials and the time required has just been out of reach. With this level of support, I can scale back on the number of orders I take in and devote time to making tutorials.
If you're a higher level patron, you can choose what tutorials you would like me to produce!

This has been the most difficult goal to meet - it's still not met. :( But I'm working on it really hard, and just having it here and having the funding reach that goal has pushed me to continue trying. I'm posting updates on the progress on this front in my activity feed. I won't give up until I start making them. Promise.

Well, it seems I can't get this done by myself. :( The good news is that I have formed a business partnership to work on producing professional quality tutorials. There is a lot of work to do get this happening so it will take a little while longer. But for my $10 patrons, I will be giving them updates and first looks for feedback.

Upgrade video lighting.

I've drop this goal to $130/video to reflect that I have already been able to upgrade my lighting thanks to my patrons. It's changed a little from the orignal plan (soft box with CFLs rather than LEDs), but it has been a big help. I don't need to move my lights as much, I can light more areas more brightly and I have more space around me when I record. It's been a solid improvement.

Currently I am using studio lights with large umbrellas. Since the studio is very small, I'm constantly tripping over wires, knocking the lights, and generally doing 'Matrix moves' to avoid them during recording. This milestone allows me to get quality LED lights that will be vastly easier to maneuver and work with.

New Computer

$150 per video

Producing more videos is going to mean more rendering and editing time, and my computer can barely handle my videos currently. A more powerful cpu, ram and a large monitor would be a big asset for expanded video production.

Having this goal as a "per video" level isn't really accurate. Right now I am saving all my patron support for a new computer and I am posting updates in the activity feed as the funding grows towards the purchase price. It's getting really close now! I've moved the goal target down to $150/video since that is more accurate for how I am approaching it.

After reaching my savings goal, I ended up needing some of the savings to help me out financially while I work to finish the Ocean Board project. It was huge for me, and I put some of the funding towards some new camera gear that has made a big difference for shooting my videos. So I'm banking again for the computer. Lord knows I need it. :) Thank you to everyone who is helping me reach this goal!

Pressure Chamber

$200 per video

A pressure chamber allows for bubble free resin casting. Since I have moved away from plaster casting, creating high quality resin casts to use for customer projects is an important goal for me. As I take on more detailed and larger scope projects, this will become an important addition to the studio.This level of support will enable me to purchase the chamber and the necessary compressor pump.

This would be an incredible level of support!

It would allow me to make TerranScapes as a content provider a major part of the business. I love providing videos, reviews, monthly columns, and advice. Making that the most significant aspect of TerranScapes would be a dream come true. Don't worry though, I will still be taking on projects but I will be able to take you along the journey with much more detail, and more intimately.

I get a lot of requests to build a variety of terrain pieces. If I reach this level of support, I'll create a survey for all my patrons, and you can vote on a project of your choice. I'll cover the project with frequent videos showing each step along the way. Doing work for myself, building what you want, would really be a dream.
