We need your help. Running a publication is costly in terms of time, energy, money, and lost opportunities. It's a full-time job, and we're currently working for free. With your help, we'll be able to grow our organization, pay our staff and contributors, keep everything free for readers and submitters, and remain independent.

We hope you think the quality of what we produce and the value of our work is worth your patronage.

Thank you in advance.

WHO ARE WE?

Birds then came, bringing in seeds, and our pile became an oasis of life.
Xjawiły się ptaki, przynosząc nasiona i nasz nasyp stał się oazą życia. (Polish)

Hi, my name is Julián Esteban Torres López, and I'm the founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Nasiona. The Nasiona is a community of creatives whose mission is to cultivate the seeds of nonfiction. We do this through an art and nonfiction literary magazine and publishing house, as well as by offering editing services, literary contests, and an internship program.

In an age when telling the difference between reality and delusion is frighteningly labyrinthine, we focus on creative works based on facts, truth-seeking, human concerns, real events, and real people, with a personal touch.

From liminal lives to the marginalized, we glimpse into extraordinary worlds to promote narrative-led nonfiction stories and art that explore the spectrum of human experience. We believe that the subjective can offer its own reality and reveal truths some facts can’t discover.

We’re a diversity-friendly organization that values multicultural and multi-experience perspectives on what it means to be human. We look to erase borders, tackle taboos, resist conventions, explore the known and unknown, and rename ourselves to claim ourselves.

We feature creative nonfiction and nonfiction poetry, book excerpts, a column on memoir writing, visual art, and interview interesting individuals from all over.

We publish continuously, on a rolling basis, and accept submissions from emerging and established authors and content creators.

We offer editing services for poetry, fiction, and nonfiction manuscripts of any length.

Our publishing house will begin publishing nonfiction book-length manuscripts in 2019.

Our internship program aims to contribute to the development of editors, journalists, writers, scholars, and those interested in the publishing industry.

With our literary contests, we look to identify and celebrate some of the best original, unpublished creative nonfiction and nonfiction poetry out there.

We founded The Nasiona in the summer of 2018 in California.

Though based in hilly San Francisco, the world is our home. Help us cultivate this pile of seeds and we'll do our best to create a worthy oasis for human life to not only exist but flourish.

The Nasiona depends on voluntary contributions from readers like you. We hope the value of our work to the community is worth your patronage. If you like what we do, please show this by financially supporting our work.
