Along with all previous rewards, Patch Notes gives you an inside look into the planning of the show. Each month, you'll get an exclusive episode of Patch Notes where you get to listen in on Adam and Logan planning out that month's episodes, discussing changes to the podcast, articles we are working on, and more. When we are done planning, we'll shoot the breeze and discuss a variety of topics from family updates to why developers can't make perfect trophy lists to what's the deal with baptism.
About The Reformed Gamers
"Where are the podcasts that discuss our favorite hobby from a Reformed Biblical perspective?"
This was the question that sparked The Reformed Gamers back in 2015. Anyone can read gaming news and give their opinion on it but it’s often never from a Biblical worldview. Anyone can discuss how fun a game is but how does it intersect with the Biblical worldview? That’s what TRG aims to do: discuss gaming news from a Biblical perspective while diving deep into specific video games to discuss the themes, worldview, and content presented within and what the Biblical worldview has to say.
Since 2015, and over 100 episodes, this is what the show has strived to achieve. Recently, TRG has also branched out to Twitch/YouTube and writes articles for the website.
For the majority of the life of TRG, Logan has invested his own money into ensuring the podcast remains hosted, equipment is upgraded when needed, games are purchased to cover on the show, etc. Over the years, it has become increasingly difficult to continue to invest in the show when the priorities of life abound. On top of that, the amount of time that the show takes has grown increasingly difficult as we focus on our ministries in our local churches that God has placed us in.
While we would keep TRG going to some degree, the financial support of Deer Listeners can alleviate a lot of stress while allowing the show to grow organically without conflicting with family and ministry.
What About Running Ads?
While we have explored that avenue in the past, there’s red-tape involved that does not align with our show. We strive to be unapologetically honest about the games we play and we do not want to sacrifice that at the cost of integrity. We want to remain 100% independent and true to our character as Christians.
We fully believe that The Reformed Gamers is changing the way Christians game. We have heard from listeners how God has used the podcast to encourage them to honor God in both gaming and life. With your help, we can continue to do what we believe God has called us to do, ad-free, and 100% honest and true to our Biblical convictions. As we continue, we love feedback from supporters and continue to adapt to improve the show to better honor God and point others to Christ.
