I'm writing this section in the most sincere way possible.
Do you like big ideas? This is a show about big ideas.
POLITICSOn a political level I'm part of the New Right (pragmatic, anti-globalization, pro-gun, pro-free speech) but I'm very open to discussion and new perspectives.
When I was 18, the EU took over my country and installed a puppet government. Nobody did nothing to stop them. The level of alienation from politics that a similar course of events instilled in my generation is indescribable. It's hard to understand what it means for westerners to grow up as subjects instead that as citizens. The meaning of political representation, the meaning of national sovereignty, is that you should be able to influence your environment, because otherwise it will be your environment that shapes you entirely. You must actively participate in the world. You must take responsability.
"There is no hope but us. There is no mercy but us. There is no justice. There is just us.
All things that are, are ours. But we must care."
- Terry Pratchett
I've been seeking the truth all my life. I learned a lot of things. And there are still many things I don't know, but at least one I'm absolutely certain about: why I'm doing this. I've decided to start this podcast because I care about this world, and I care about the people.
PHILOSOPHYI'm developing a political philosophy that aims at fixing the trust-limits of free-market anarchism, while giving an intellectual structure to Trump's proposed agenda: the codename that I use at the moment is Market Republicanism.
I've worked for many years on the problem of religion, coming to some of the same conclusions of Dr. Jordan Peterson, like the necessity of religion to solve the epistemological problem (how do you know what you think you know?).
My overall approach it's not based on a one-size-fits-all model, but on rational judgements regarding single issues, and it develops organically, case-by-case, in a process that resembles more closely the development of common law than that of other traditional philosophical systems (which are more fixed, and could be associated to civil law in this analogy).
My goal with the podcast is to make you witnesses and partakers of this process.
DIALOGUEThis podcast is meant as a forum for discussion between individuals from different sections of the political spectrum. I'm really excited about the opportunity of interacting with other political and cultural figures , and I aim to spark conversations that could lead to the development of new intellectual alliances and schools of thought.
COMMUNITYOne of my major objectives with the show is to create an independent community outside of the corporate social media. I want to interact a lot with you and, on the long run, build a movement that can somehow intervene positively on a cultural and political level.
WHO I AMMy name is Simone Butera, I'm 23 and I'm a freelance philosopher and right-wing beatnik from Southern Italy.
I grew up in a farm, in a working-class-very-pro-gun family, and I've been interested in politics since I was 19, philosophy since I was 15, and religion and art since I can remember.
As a kid I've been the highest-ranking student in every school I frequented, hosting scientific and commemorative celebrations in my city; but in my teenage years I grew increasingly alienated from my environment. I changed school multiple times, I failed a year, and one time I even dropped out of high school altogether and started traveling around the nation on my own. My philosophical research helped me overcome my problems. I tried different religions and spiritual paths, but my enlightenment came from reading the COTUS and learning about Ayn Rand's philosophy.
I learned how to speak in public through my involvement in theater, rap music and debate clubs. I learned English working as a waiter in 5-stars hotels in London and as a fundraiser in Wales.
I became involved in politics after witnessing the rise of the Regressive Left; I've been a political activist for a non-profit organization, and I've been featured as a speaker in political and corporate events in Milan and Turin. My article in defense of Steve Bannon has been published by multiple Italian right-wing websites and blogs. I've been developing my philosophy for 8 years now, and I've decided to start broadcasting it to you.
This is my story so far, but I hope we can write the rest together.
