The most important thing for animals is to have the basic necessities of life available at all times.  Many of our rescues have come from places that don't have access to fresh clean water.  Almost anybody can clean a bucket or a trough and get it sparkling again. Your generosity truly makes a difference in the lives of these beautiful creatures that we choose to serve.
Your monthly support helps us carry out rescue missions, provide urgent medical treatment, and take care of the animals that will live out their lives here at the "Forever Rescue" that is The Old Goats Home and Rescue.
Please note The Old Goats Home and Rescue is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, therefore, any amount shared for the love of these special beings is tax-deductible.

Thank you for being a part of the day to day operations that are vital to the health and wellbeing of our life long residents. This level of patronage keeps the Tiny Homes clean, of each and every individual resident, to be able to snuggle up to each other at their best level of health and wellness with their friends and family.  Your help at this level is as essential to our residents mental and physical wellbeing as fresh sheets on the bed and a clean house is for you.

"Making The Gummy Mush"

We are beyond excited that you would want to help with making 240 odd pounds of "Gummy Mush" a day.  This is no small feat with so many grumbly bellies letting us know if we are even a few minutes late with breakfast!  Your patronage on this super generous level helps us make sure that all our more senior residents have big, full and content bellies daily.
You just like the gummy mush are HUGELY important to our senior goaties.  Without the mush, they would have no way to live a healthy, happy senior life, because without teeth, they are unable to eat the normal food goaties would and could eat, much like a human without their false teeth.

About The Old Goats Home & Rescue

ABOUT THE OLD GOATS HOME & RESCUE

The Old Goats Home & Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit farm animal sanctuary. We help rescue and rehabilitate animals that have suffered abuse and/or neglect, outlived their “usefulness,” or have problems in their current homes. We rescue, rehabilitate, and help the animals feel safe, loved, and experience safety knowing they will have clean water, regular meals, plenty of friends and a soft place to call their own. All of our animal residents live as members of our family: Our hearts and home is open to all. To date, we have opened up our rescue farm sanctuary to over 300 animals, and that number grows every year.

The Old Goats Home & Rescue journey began when our family saw a devastating amount of goats headed to slaughter or going without homes. Due to lack of education and care in communities, goats were being tossed out of the homes they knew, and being left to fend for themselves. Other goat rescues had started turning our goats away because there was no room. Neglect, slaughtering, and leaving goats behind became more and more prominent. Goats were withering in rescues longer than they should due to personality issues and their age. After seeing the tragedy before us, we saw a way we could help these neglected goats and give them purpose: Rent-A-Ruminant was born! We knew we could save up to 130 goats at a time.

Seeing the need, and knowing we could make a difference, we opened our home and began a shelter to make neglected and abused Goats members of our family. To keep our goat family members from getting bored, we let them do what they love- munching! And, they help the environment while chowing down! Our rescue goats eat invasive species, play with friends, reduce ladder fuels, munching down vegetation to help crime-filled areas become more visible, so our communities stay safe.

After 12 years of rescuing and giving a home to in-need goats, we realized we needed a place for our disabled goats, goats with heavy PTSD, and goaties that just needed a quieter pace of life to live.  We had several goatie all ready but our numbers were growing, so we developed a larger sanctuary we call The Old Goats Home and Resuce. Our goaties are given the best of everything. A safe place, love, a full belly, and a place to relax and enjoy playing with both family and loads of friends, and 5 star health care with super loving, super caring providers. Here they are provided with an opportunity to find purpose in their lives doing something they love, and then retiring to the sanctuary where they live out their days till the end. But goats are not all we have found space in our home and hearts for: We’ve also made room for other vulnerable animals who were out of options like: chickens, geese, horses, mini horses, cows, and sheep.

We are working towards a bigger mission to educate the public that these animals are not just “farm animals:” We aim to give all our animal residents a voice! By sharing their personal stories of struggle, neglect, loneliness, and triumph, we give them the opportunity to step up and be ambassadors for their kind. We will always stand beside them in the fight against abuse, neglect, and consumption. We give our animals a chance to live in a world where every human or animal can find joy, love, and happiness, every single day. If one of us falls we get to stand beside each other and pick the other up!

We ask that the humans involved in The Old Goats Home and Rescue to be a part of our family when they are on the property, by showing true love and respect for these wonderful beings. Animals live as part of our family from rescue to the end, and visitors are included as part of our family crew.

As a Patron, we invite you to learn more about the rescue, rehabilitation and retired life of our furry family members. In exchange, we give you access to personal details about the goaties’ daily lives and the exclusive behind-the-scenes decisions that run our organization. We'll collate awesome candid photos and detailed stories of our rescues, their rehabilitation, and their retirements. We will post breaking news about big events, farm tours, farm details, special events just for Patrons, and any changes in our organization. You'll have behind the scenes access in a world where we rescue for LIFE!

As a Patron, you will get to see individual personalities, stories, and experience the love these animals share daily. You can go on tour with our goaties as they see the sites across Seattle, and truly understand that these goat-babies are more than just “farm animals.”

Your generous patronage of our organization allows us to continue the hard work of helping as many goats and other animals as we possibly can. We've structured our Patreon tiers as farm chores, (that's what helps create a loving, happy environment) and we invite you to choose your own level of happiness. We humbly thank you for your love, comments, stories, fostering and support,
Rebecca Gibbons of The Old Goats Home and Rescue

Goals
66 of 500 patrons
We have hopes that with the help of our patrons that we can create space for more senior or disabled goaties and give these amazing creatures a chance at a forever home with 5 star health care plan, and providers that love them just like one of their own family.

We hope that we can educate the public that these wonderful, smart, beautiful creatures are MORE than just "farm animals" through opening up our home, our sanctuary, and our lives, you will see that we just cannot do this without the help of our amazing Patrons.

Our ongoing costs for rehabilitation, vet care, and food for these wonderful creatures is never-ending and we need all the help we can get to make sure our dream of "Everybody deserves a forever home" and "Rescue for Life" can be maintained and enjoyed by MANY!
