What is Twin Cities by Night?
Twin Cities by Night is a podcast offering actual play content centered around tabletop role-playing games set in White Wolf Publishing’s "World of Darkness" setting. We focus on the horror aspects of the setting and like to take a deep dive into character development by tackling mature themes and exploring moral conflicts in the games we love. Additionally Twin Cities by Night features rule and lore discussions, interviews with other content creators or industry personae, a book club centered around inspiration for "World of Darkness" games and reviews of products from the "Storyteller's Vault" produced by fans for fans.

We, the international group behind Twin Cities by Night, have been going strong with consistent uploads for two and a half years (and counting) fueled by cold brew coffee, love for the games and overwhelming support by the community. We have constantly strived to make our content the highest quality we can with what we have.

Here’s the thing though, we have plateaued with the improvements we can make with the tools that we have. For us to get to the next level we need funds, but the thing is we don’t want to have to be sponsored by companies or push advertising for products to get funds to improve our tools, and thus reach the next level.

What Does This Patreon Cover?

Twin Cities by Night is the story that started it all. It is a Vampire: the Masquerade Revised Edition game that takes place in the Twin Cities of Minnesota in 2010 - 2011. The players assume the roles of Kindred who lived secluded lives, until one night they are forced together by factors outside of their control. In this chronicle we like to focus on the personal horror themes found in Vampire: the Masquerade, keeping the focus on individual characters instead of grand schemes of Kindred society. As of now this chronicle consists of three story arcs: Negligence and Homecoming, which have concluded, and Dread which is currently ongoing.

The Ultimate Evil is a Chronicles of Darkness game set in Bismarck, North Dakota. It is inspired by the Satanic Panic of the 80s and tells the story of four young men who all lost a shared mentor in their childhood and are re-united 10 years later to look into her murder. Along the way they start uncovering repressed memories of their past. In this story we put strong emphasis on the lives of the player characters to show how very normal and real people can be pulled into the World of Darkness. Remembrance was the first story arc, and the second, Institutionalized, is planned for 2018/2019.

Diluted is the story of unraveling a mystery in the cold winter of Victorian era England. Set in the early winter of 1848 in London, England, the whole of Kindred society is asked to investigate the source of a mysterious tonic that poisons Kindred. The players are asked to join in one Kindred's search in the hopes of advancing their positions in Kindred society. This chronicle is centered around the mystery of the tonic, the actions the characters take to solve the mystery and their consequences. Diluted is the first arc and the second, tentatively titled: Rot, is still being planned.

Juarez on Fire is a Vampire: the Masquerade Revised Edition game that takes place on the border of Texas and Mexico in 1942. It is a Sabbat tale of fire, blood and lead that follows the trials and tribulations of the Pale Riders pack. In this story we got to explore themes that are rarely featured in Camarilla games, such as losing one’s humanity with the risk of Wassail, selfless service, and the family like relationships of the pack caused by Vinculum. This story will culminate in a prequel to Twin Cities by Night, so stay tuned for a return of the Pale Riders pack in the future.

Vanity is a Changeling: The Lost game set in Fort Lauderdale in the year 1993. The small freehold is going through deceptively simple times and the changelings are mostly enjoying themselves in their own facade of a normal lifestyle. But things quickly turn sour when children start disappearing seemingly out of nowhere and the courts are faced with the question whether they have done enough to support their community.
With little to no prior experience this setting has quickly become one of our favorites by exploring traumatic backstories of changelings and how this draws them together into a paranoid, pretentious and overall powerless collective.

Corruption is a game based on the Hunters Hunted 2 supplement for Vampire: the Masquerade 20th Anniversary Edition. Taking on the task of hunting down supernatural creatures might seem like noble heroism on first glance, but these are not descriptors one would use for the four hunters who have decided to take residence in an underground bunker just outside of Washington, in the hopes of being sheltered against vampires or humans under their control.
Are they just a bunch of paranoid, gun-loving, drugged lunatics? Maybe, but that does not mean they are wrong.

The Brian Book Club is a podcast where Chris talks about how different books in the horror and true crime genre can be used as inspiration for both storytellers and players in different World of Darkness settings.

The Brian Diaries is a podcast where hosts Andrew and Chris invite other content creators involved in The World of Darkness to talk about their insights and experiences. Our goal with this podcast is to help out those who may be interested in delving into being a creator themselves, or those who just have a curiosity to see how things work behind the scenes.

Bold Crew Reviews is a podcast where hosts Mitch and Chris review products that are available in White Wolf Entertainment’s Storyteller’s Vault. Mitch, with his two decades of experience with the variety of World of Darkness games, gives his honest opinions and insights on the books under direction of Chris who approaches the books from the viewpoint of an intrigued potential customer.
