About

Hi guys! Writing is my passion, but it is a difficult field to get into, so I turn to you, the patrons of the arts. As a writer, I can promise you looks into my original, creative content, previously unpublished and maybe even sneak peeks at my novel...

My writing is fantasy for the most part, but I also like to write Gothic fiction, historical fiction and poetry. But if there is something you would like to see in my next piece, feel free to let me know! If you think that there is some kind of improvement needed for my writing, do not hesitate to let me know. Constructive criticism is always welcome. Before you make any decisions to support me, here is a little writing sample to give you an idea about my writing!
Vaia was dragged back down below decks this time, by the large, dark-skinned man the captain had referred to as “Dave.” Her eyes had not yet fully adjusted to the sunlight the time she was brought to the tiny room on the right side of the ship. He left her there, with gruff instructions to remain until she was fetched. Well where else am I going to go? And so she had remained. The room was dark, the only source of light was a small window near the top of the wall. An unlit lantern hung from the ceiling, above a small cot. The room was small. There was only enough room for the cot along the wall and a sliver of floor space to move around a bit.
It wasn’t all that different from hiding in the hold. For days, she had been hidden in the dark, not daring to creep out of her hiding place until she had figured out the routine of the crew. There was a day shift and a night shift. During the day, they crew was busy with their duties about the ship. Vaia slept in the deep recesses of the hold where she wouldn’t be seen should a crew member come looking for supplies. At night, all was quiet and Vaia could safely move about the hold without fear of detection.
The room Vaia waited in was more comfortable than the hold. As small as it was, she could move, and rather than crouching, she could sit on the cot. It’s a far cry from home, she thought as she sat, but it’s better than the alternative. The dark box she was in now felt so much less confining than the ballroom of her father’s house.
When the door opened, a fattish man in an apron stood in the doorway, his hands at his sides. “Dave told me I could find my new cabin boy here, didn’t expect him to be a lass.” He sighed and waved her out of the room. “Well, come on then. To the galley with you. I’ll show you around and then you’ll have plenty of work to do as soon as we’ve finished.” Once Vaia had made it out of the room, the man walked along the ship with Vaia in tow.
Vaia followed the man into a room that was hot and humid and smelled of sweat and fish. The room wasn’t much larger than her own room, but it was cramped with a small iron stove, pots, and a small table for preparation. A few bundles of common herbs hung from a beam in the ceiling while fish hung drying on the other side of the beam.
The man turned to Vaia, who was standing in the door frame desperately hoping to breathe the fresh air coming from the deck above. “Right, I’m Aimes. I’m the cook ’ere. What’s your name then?”
