Why Vandy Beth is on Patreon
My blog, Fibonacci Spiral, has a serious side wherein I share my thoughts about being a transgender woman, progressive Southerner, skeptic, civil rights pioneer (Glenn v. Brumby), and member of the 21st century LGBT community. It also has a less-serious side in which I write about pop culture, running, and spelling bees.

I have a point of view, but I don't think I harbor many prejudices against people who disagree. Truth is what matters most to me, and I think I can admit it when I'm wrong.

Ideally, you'll laugh at least once when reading my posts.

Ideally, you'll think about something new to you at least once when reading my posts.

I've been doing this for a while, and I think I'm getting pretty good at it. I've had pieces published in several books, in the magazine Art Papers, the newspaper Georgia Voice, and elsewhere. I also have frequent public speaking engagements.

How often do you post?
Rarely, in recent months, but I'm trying to get my groove back after emerging from certain months-long diversions. My goal is to write and post something every weekday, but I've never managed that. The closest I've gotten is nine posts per month.

But there's no shortage of things to write about, especially in this time when the news appears to be All Transgender All The Time. Paid posts will always be at least 1,000 words, they'll usually be about transgender or LGBT topics, and they will never exceed ten posts per month.

I also link to my nonpaid posts here, but they're usually shorter and may even just be a meme or similar share from social media.

How would you like me to support you?
I'm only asking $1 per post. Pledging more would be welcome, but if you pledge just $1 per post and I meet my ten posts per month goal, that's $10. I'll never ask you for more than $10 per month.

I'm still working out a rewards program for patrons, but at the very least, if you pledge this Patreon at any level at all, you'll get a free ebook edition of my autobiography (currently in progress) when it's published.

I'm also thinking about designing a challenge coin. Would you like a challenge coin? Let me know!

Thank you for reading this far. Whether you decide to help support my writing or not, I appreciate the time you've spent here.

Contact me via email at [email protected], or on Twitter @RedVelvetCakes if you have any more questions!
