I've had the best jobs in the business: Music Director on a hit Broadway show (SUMMER: The Donna Summer Musical), playing keys for Beyoncé, playing keys and singing for Stevie Wonder, and on the 2013 version of the Arsenio Hall Show.
In 2015, after Arsenio and before touring with Beyoncé, I decided to finish my first album. And I did!! I saved money and did my best to complete the project, but I was still short. Honestly, making music is not cheap, and the music world is a feast or famine existence.
Undaunted, I created and ran a successful crowd-funding campaign on PledgeMusic. Thanks to the support of hundreds of people who believe in me, "Grateful" is now a thing in the world! However, for most of us contemporary, independent musical artists, the promise of financial gain through album sales is non-existent. Performing in small venues is usually a money losing proposition (after paying the band, I usually lose money). What's an artist to do?!?
We artists need people, like you, who love music and believe in the magic of music, to show their support by buying music, attending concerts, hosting house concerts, and telling other music lovers about our music. I need your support. Will you be my patron? : >
