per monthHello friends! I’m Lauren R. Weinstein. I am the award-winning author of the comic strip Normel Person, as well as the books Girl Stories and The Goddess of War, plus comics about motherhood, science, commuting and resisting Trump. In this Patreon you will see all sorts of drafts and things I'm thinking about, plus the seeds of Normel Person strips and other things I’m working on. My goal is to keep Normel Person free to the public! I have a couple projects going on right now. One is a 32-page book about giving birth for Youth in Decline’s Frontier series. The other is a teenage memoir. You will see all sorts of works in progress.
I am excited to use this space to speak directly to you, dear reader! I am eager to have your input on first drafts. I see this as a place to experiment and confess without being beholden to a content-constraining corporate entity.
I hate asking for money, but it’s really hard to afford paying $10 to $15 an hour for sitters. I used to pay for babysitting through the $$ I was paid when Normel Person was running in The Village Voice, but that is not happening any more, so I'm just racking up debt. This is the extra burden placed on working moms in society!
