Years ago I found myself wanting to visit a favorite place; The Palace Theater of Olean, NY. A beautiful vaudeville theater and picture house that opened in 1917. A building that held many memories as well as being an outstanding piece of architecture. It was demolished, and in its place now stands a modern chain drug store.

While a number of pictures exist of the actual theater, I thought it would be interesting to apply my craft of creating 3D models and animation to make a way to "visit" the Palace again. At first, I thought through 3D animation. Then I developed it further into immersive 360° Video viewable in your web browser, mobile device, or Google Cardboard.

Out of my wish to revisit the Palace, and to explore many other historic locations, the 360° Video series "Edge of Memories" is born. Over the next months along with the Palace, places such as Terrapin Tower at Niagara Falls in 1850, the Larkin Building in Buffalo, NY, and Tesla/Westinghouse's first hydro-electric power plant, Adam's Powerhouse #1 will be visualized.

About me: I am William P Capozzi, I create animation and VR simulations of historic places, many of which no longer exist. I study architecture and history through pictures, stories, and memories attached. Recently, I was honored to be able to give a TEDx talk in Buffalo, NY about this subject. (Far outside my comfort zone to speak in public, yet it means a great deal to me to connect the past with the present, and the future, in this way). Currently, my one-man small business, Dedicated Digital, is launching an effort to re-create historic places that are just at the "Edge of Memories".

You can find more about me and my works on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and my own site Dedicated Digital.

Thank You!
