About Samuel Sligh III

Hello!!! My name is Samuel Sligh. I'm a partnered streamer on Twitch (twitch.tv/Slyakagreyfox) And about a year ago I decided to one day to do a radio station on Twitch, but different. It would be a City Pop radio station that plays the best of the 70's and 80's of Japan. It was a once in a blue moon thing, when I was in the mood.

I called it Station WSLY (creative huh...)

It was a segment of my stream where you could relax and enjoy the tunes. And the oddest thing happened: people took to it really well. I always enjoyed doing it; it was so relaxing and at times I would just let the music take me away. Japan's music scene, in my opinion was the best in the City Pop era. Artists like Tomoko Aran, Junko Ohashi, Toshiki Kadomatsu, Tatsu Yamashita, and many others made amazing music that to this day stands the test of time.

Fast forward to recently (about right before the New Year) and I was thinking of things I wanted to do for 2020. Not necessarily resolutions, but ways I wanted to grow and improve the stream and one of those things was Station WSLY. I though to myself,  "what if we made WSLY a weekly thing. Even better, what if we were licensed?' Well Station WSLY is a weekly station on Saturday nights right after Shin Megami Tensei Saturdays AND we're now licensed through ASCAP!

With these changes I wanted to put forth a better listening experience for you every week and I couldn't have done any of this without my Twitch community. So where do we go from here? Well I hope to get the listeners more involved in shaping Station WSLY. From including sets of songs from listeners, to allowing you to create your own City Pop mixtape and playing it on air, there's so much I want to bring to you, who make this little dream of mine come true.

So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening. Thank you for supporting Station WSLY. See you on the air!
