My name is Paul Barbera. I am a photographer. ‘Where They Create’ is a visual documentation of the creative environments of artists & creatives that I meet during my travels for assignments. This behind-the-scenes look at the artists' process and work spaces offers an intimate glimpse into an often concealed part of their practice.

This is a personal project that I have been working on for over 10 years. Initially thought only as a blog, Where They Create turned into a book thanks to the interest of Frame Publishers. The book is on its second print run and has now been translated into Chinese. The WTC website is independently produced and a free resource for readers. This Patreon page is for those interested in supporting and sustaining this project and ultimately the development of another book!

"Paul Barbera’s project documents, through images, creative working spaces from all around the world. Barbera’s curiosity, naturalness and good eye for interiors, together with his ability to transmit emotions and warmth make this project unique."
