It's been over a year now since we started using Youtube to build a better gaming community. Though I'm deeply rooted in PlanetSide 2, the goal has always been to use gaming in general as a catalyst to share lessons and ideas to help others where I can.
My father told me that "Your hobby can become your business when you spend more time on your hobby than you do at your day job." That's basically where I am right now.
Commentating as a profession has been a more recent goal, and YouTube has been making that a possibility. I spend upwards of eight hours per video for the shorter, but thorough ones, and upwards of 16 hours for the longer, more thorough videos (like this one.)
In 2013, subscribers donated more than $500 to help send me to the annual gaming convention for Sony Online Entertainment (SOE Live) so that I could share what I've learned as a commentator with others. Between that and the fact that the channel is as large as it is in only a year's time, I know you care. I know you care about more than the videos, about more than the commentary, about more than the gameplay.
I believe you care about the gaming community, and a humble channel that has been trying to cultivate a better one.
As unfortunate as it may be, money is necessary for survival. Any donations received will be used to support my family, as well as build out the channel. This means more (and better!) content, more frequently.
It's my hope that I can repay those who contribute, in a way that goes beyond providing interesting, helpful, or entertaining videos. The reward tiers below are a good start, but hopefully later on down the line, there will be more significant perks for being a patron of this channel.
