Laced with Hip Hop aesthetics, X The Artist creates work that dares to speak to the best and worst of our world.
X cites his mixed media/collage style as a strategic approach to critical social analysis. It is, if nothing else, a manifesto that acknowledges the role of the artist in the 21st century. But don’t let this intelligent engagement with creativity intimidate you. The Brooklyn native creates art for all and his talent has garnered him commissions from some of Hip Hop’s notables including Curren$y, Jim Jones, DElAnO Brown(TheArtreprenuer), ChopHouze336 Recording Studio, DjESudd, & 2Chainz+.
Still, there is a complexity that cannot be ignored. Where many artists refuse to take risks, X the artist pushes boundaries drawing inspiration from everyday materials, scenes, news reports, and music. One has only to look at pieces such as Money Power Respect or Vertical to see evidence of an artist invested in interrogating complicated realities. Each piece, a collage of oils, acrylics, found objects such as cans and even dollar bills, represents what the artist refers to as “organized chaos.” Indeed, his work mirrors, the multiple dimensions of any individual at any given moment.
And from where does one learn to think about art in these terms you might ask? No other place than at home. Inspired by his great- grandmother Martha Jane Pettway (famous Quilter), she is known as a woman before her time, X The Artist treats the creation process the way he says Martha Jane Pettway treated her life- with style and grace.

Goals
$18 of $1,000 per month
My personal goal is to reach $1,000 a month in which will assist, as well as make a significant impact on my life and my childrens lives, creations and especially my passion in taking my artistry to make a difference in our world and society

I recently accepted a teaching/mentor position with Raleigh NC non profit "OWN YOUR DREAMS NC". It is a non profit so I will not be receiving pay nor will they be able to supply the art supplies needed for my class size (20 children ages 6-14 years old) . First class starts Jan 6th, 2018. I will be using my own funds and own supplies for the children but if you can assist it is greatly appreciated.

I have been the sole provider of all my travel, art supplies, art shows, overhead business cost such as Public relations, marketing , web cost, art merchandising etc. Becoming part of my passion by helping in anyway is greatly appreciated and I personally will send each and every supporter a gift in return for you appreciation.

Since 2009,  when I decided to take art serious after my business professor Dr. Lightner told me I should; after viewing some of my personal home pieces I created.

I have been investing solely myself, and I have traveled to Los Angeles, Miami, New York city, Atlanta, etc showcasing, hosting my own art shows & events , etc. From 2010-2013 I opened and ran my own art gallery and studio in Greensboro NC downtown area.  In 2014 alone I did 33 group showcases and 3 solo exhibitions.

Its not all about money so I am most definitely open to anyone buying art supplies. Any funds raised will go directly to the arts and art business. You can follow me on youtube, twitter, instagram, tumblr etc as I will give thanks and show how you all are my family of support.
