i'm jon jon moore & you're listening to abolitionISH: a podcast at the end of the world
Nearly a year after the debut episode of abolitionISH, a black politics and culture podcast, I'm happy to finally create a Patreon to help pay guests, ensure accessibility, and support future collaborations! Although the podcast will still be hosted on Anchor and monthly supporters are welcome to continue their subscriptions, Patreon allows you, our listener community, to become more familiar with guests, their work, and the world(s) they're collectively imagining and manifesting in real time.
I have a few short and long-term goals for the monthly podcast, and my work more broadly, that I'm excited to share with you. Towards these ends, I'm developing weekly content exclusively for patrons who inhabit various positions of power, including reflections, mini-interviews, reading lists, writing prompts, and one-on-one advising. Supporting the cultural and educational work of the podcast as a patron gives you behind-the-scenes access to podcast development and additional resources for your own creative-intellectual journey!
By August 15 (my birthday!): 50 patrons across the board, first collaborative episode.
By January 1, 2021: All guests paid $100 minimum.
August 15, 2021 (whew chile...): 200 patrons.

Many irons in the fire, no Shaun King shit. I'm a Detroit-born writer and black studies Ph.D. student. Often thinking and writing (and against all odds, reading) about the relationship between afro-pessimism and black feminism, poetry, and the paranormal. AbolitionISH is my baby. When I'm not working on the podcast, I'm teaching, *******, or sleeping. Lover of cheesecake, cheesy horror movies, and cheese, period.
