We are located in Mexico, and in here there is absolutely no support for local artists. That's why all the support from you is going to change directly the reality from many local artists. In here, the government with their cultural department, usually hires international artists instead of local talents. They hire painters, music players, performers and even architects. But no true mexicans whatsoever.

I know this because I have dedicated the last 9.5 years to support the local talent. I have faced the harsh difficulties to raise as a band before, also as a graphic artist because of the inability to sell beyond our city or the lack of places to expose your work, and that drove me here, hosting events from 50 up to 1,700 people in one day.

The language barrier makes it truly difficult to sell images, or clothing that -knowing for a fact- many foreigners would gladly buy. So we also help them get connected with site like this one, but we have to be first a good example and link. We support the local markets and artistic ambient by hosting massive events since 2008. And I have done so by using abandoned houses that I could use for such events, without making any true profit and using all the resources for the making of the event with as much class and accesability as possible.

But yet again, we never seek to make profit of these events. We are trying to make jobs for artists and musicians, and that is one truly difficult -but gratifing- quest. And it has been difficult.

We have tried 2 times to keep and maintain the venues to serve the audiences, but we have failed twice. And I mean me and my spouse. We have failed due to the lack of income we generated to pay the landlords. We have managed to get just enough, but there is not much left to work with, to make more stuff like videos and more open presentations. We are right now trying our third time and now a friend told us about Patreon. We love the idea of being able to open for free, so the audience wouldn't have to pay in a city were the cultural level is not high, and therefore it is imperative to help out the artists reach the people. But we always pay the artists. And that's where all our money goes, besides the landlord. We truly live for this cause, but honestly, some help would make this idea last forever.

With enough help from you, together, we can build a much better place, and we can even make it more open to reach more people out. With your help, this project for the preserverance of the artistic community will always exist, because we have excellent experience in making events, art will always be attractive and this type of things will grow by themselves, or at least we like to think that way.

So all of your support for this cause, the ACOPIO cause, goes directly to a real tangible piece of art, allowing the flow of imagination from creative minds. THANKS!

Goals
$0 of $500 per month
If you allow me to reach $500 per month, I will start a video of at least 30min every 2 week with a live local band. It would show them playing and interviewing them.

With this goal we would be able to never ask anything from the bands, making a video in english for international audiences.
