ActorParlor was founded in November 2017 as the first-ever social and professional network for actors, performers, and individuals involved in the entertainment business to chat, connect, and create (check out our attached video clip). However, much like one’s craft, we have continually listened, adjusted, and evolved into the platform we are today.
What began as a goal to further the interconnectivity of the acting profession developed into an online platform dedicated to featuring actors, hearing their stories, showcasing projects, and increasing interconnectivity through shared experience. In a very short time frame, we have amassed a wonderful social media following, in large part due to our regular actor features and interviews.
So why Patreon? We would like your help to continue expanding, so that we can touch the lives of as many actors, artists, and performers as possible. To accomplish this task, we hope to increase our funding to cover costs of website maintenance and content creation, as well as various expansion projects currently under development. In just a short time, ActorParlor will not only interview actors; we will soon provide media coverage to black box and regional theatres, indie film productions, and other high-quality, yet relatively unknown productions seeking wider exposure.
All patrons will receive a premium monthly newsletter, as well as curated, interest-based articles sent to their inbox on a weekly basis. Additional benefits are slated to be announced in the coming months.
It’s quite common to hear, “It’s a small world,” and, unsurprisingly, the entertainment business is even smaller. On the ActorParlor platform, you’ll find interviews with both aspiring and veteran actors alike, features on films with budgets in both the thousands and millions, and insights from everyone and everything in-between.
