Hello Internet person!
WHO IS THIS?
I'm Adrian Holovaty in Chicago, and I've been posting YouTube guitar videos since 2007. I do all sorts of stuff, from fingerstyle love songs to gypsy jazz video game themes. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's sad, sometimes it's a single guitar, sometimes it's five multitracked guitars. The common thread is: it's songs that I like, that I try to do justice to.
Oh, and it's all instrumental. If I sang in my videos, I'd be the one paying you to sit through them. Trust me.
Here's my YouTube video archive, so you can get a taste.
I'm excited to use Patreon because making videos has always been a side thing for me, and this could give me a chance to spend more time on my guitar playing! Or at least help me buy guitar strings every once in a while. :-)
HOW DOES THIS WORK?
You can use this site to pledge me a buck or three each time I post a music video. In exchange, you'll get the warm fuzzy feelings of supporting an independent musician -- plus some extra perks, depending on the pledge level. See below for the details. (Spoiler alert: Tabs! Blooper reels! Song requests!)
No need to worry about being charged unpredictably often. If you pledge $1 per video and you're worried about me posting 30 videos in a month, you can set a monthly maximum so that you don't break the bank. Historically, I've posted videos every few months, though I'm hoping Patreon encourages me to post more -- my goal is between one and four videos a month.
WHAT IF I CAN'T PAY?
Importantly, my videos will continue to be free. So for those of you who can't afford to be a patron or don't want to be one for whatever reason: that's totally fine. You'll still get to see my videos on YouTube. My stuff is not going behind a paywall. Also, note that you can stop donating at any time and I will still love you.
Thank you for checking this out, and thanks for listening to my music!
