Hi! My name is Ashley Williams and I'm a engineer and manager working on Rust and Rust and WebAssembly technologies. I am a member of the Rust Core Team and a member of the Rust WebAssembly working group. Notably, I currently lead the Community Team and crates.io team, and I maintain the wasm-pack and cargo-generate projects, both of which are developer tools designed to give folks a productive and accessible experience working with Rust. You can read about wasm-pack in my Mozilla Hacks blogpost.

You can view my other development work on my GitHub profile.

I do operations work for crates.io and the Rust website. I'm on 24/7 on-call duty for the website, and every other week I'm on 24hr on-call duty for crates.io.

I travel internationally to give talks and workshops on open source governance and sustainability, Rust, JavaScript/Node.js/npm, language design, and Rust and WebAssembly. You can view some of my talks here:

I care a lot about growing healthy and inclusive open source developer communities and building powerful technology that are accessible to folks of all backgrounds. This year I ran Increasing Rust's Reach, a mentoring initiative to grow Rust's community to include folks who are largely underrepresented in technology. I have also taught several RustBridge workshops, and wrote and help maintain the base curriculum for the program.

As of January 2019 I will not be receiving income for my work in and on the open source projects and communities I am currently involved in and would appreciate your support!
