Who am I?

Besides a being of pure awesomeness in a person suit?  Glad you asked!

I'm Amanda Gannon, and I just can't seem to stop making art.  Some of it is bizarre, some of it is beautiful, some of it cute as heck.  The thing that brings me the most joy?  Customizing My Little Ponies.

I am also certified disabled: bipolar II with an accompanying anxiety disorder.  Fun, right?  The government benefits I receive are my only source of income, but they do not even pay for my rent, let alone food, bills, and medical care.

Instead of giving up, I want to focus on what I can do, what I'm good at doing, and earn some financial security through the art that makes me so happy.

I mean, what better way to get where you want to go than on the back of a magical horse?

Told you they're cute as heck.

What's the deal?

By sponsoring me in all my strangely awesome glory, you help supply me with food, electricity, meds, and art supplies.  Your donation through Patreon means I can keep doing cool things.  Cool things you will be the first to know about.

Patrons like you will get sneak peeks at my ponies (and other art) with in-process pics, and you'll get to see the final photos before anyone else.  I will talk about the rewards of customization, and the challenges it presents.  If things go really well and the melon-baller of depression doesn't decide to scrape out my creative centers that month, I'll write silly short stories to go with the ponies now and then.

Patrons will also get advance notification of any sales or auctions, giving you the first chance to bid on or buy the ones you like – you might be able to get one before anyone not on Patreon even sees it.
And once a year, for patrons who have been sponsoring me at the $15 level, there'll be a drawing to get a free pony!

Why should you support me?

I frigging love what I do, and if I felt safer I could do a lot more of it.

With the support of people who believe in me as an artist, I will be happier and safer, and it is my earnest hope that this will translate into more work.  Awesomer work.

I'm not gonna lie.  I can't always make with the arts.  There may be a month here and there where I don't accomplish anything.  The mental illness combined with the constant financial stress grinds down my ability to create even during my "up" phases.  It's a vicious cycle that keeps me miserable, broke, and helpless, but it's one I hope filling the financial gaps will help to alleviate.

Support from Patrons would help me move away from this state of constant fear and into a realm of security so that I focus on those things I can do, put my energy into creating beautiful things, and live my life with as much integrity and self-respect as possible.

Like I said, I love what I do.  I want to do it.  I want to share it with you.  Let's make that possible.
