I have been blogging on my own sites, writing for The Geekiary, and guest blogging on other sites since 2012. With two novels under my belt, I decided that I wanted my next project to be something more 'personal'. The idea for my next project, She's Kinda Hot, But Then She Talks: Essays & Insight From a Fake Geek Girl was inspired by my own content creation experiences, including being on the receiving end of some pretty ridiculous internet trolling.

I tend to gravitate toward tongue-in-cheek humor, and that combined with my lengthy catalogue of opinionated blog entries and articles will serve as the base for a book of past writing as well as some new content that will be driven by suggestions from supporters.

I'm a fandom and geek culture expert, public speaker, writer, event planner, and character cosplayer. I founded Ice & Fire Con, the first ever Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones convention in the US, and now run its parent company Saga Event Planning. Additionally, I'm co-administrator of the popular geek media website The Geekiary and co-host the “FEELINGS…with The Geekiary” webcast. I've spoken about geek culture at San Diego Comic-Con, C2E2, MegaCon, Dragon Con, Ohio State University, TedX Sarasota, and more. My debut novel, The Way of Reckoning, was published in December 2014, and my second novel - entitled How To Start Living (in the Zombie Apocalypse) - was released in February 2017.

The first step for my next book is to hire a book coach. I have already met with one and am hoping to hire her by sometime this fall. This amount will cover two months of book coaching, which will include handling the overall layout of "She's Kinda Hot, But Then She Talks" as well as helping me decide what to include or not include from my writing catalogue, and more.
