The Aiming Circle is an
on-line resource for writer-practitioners of military-themed literary and genre
fiction; creative non-fiction; history; poetry; opinion/analysis; and other
storytelling. We illuminate potential markets, contests, workshops, and other
opportunities for military writers, and provide them concrete tools, tips, and
techniques for writing, editing, and publishing their work on time, and on
target.
Facilitated by award-winning soldier-poet and humorist Charlie Sherpa (Welcome to FOB Haiku, published in 2015), the Aiming Circle is maintained and managed by Middle West Press LLC. Since launching the Red Bull Rising blog in 2009, Sherpa has assisted and inspired hundreds of service members, veterans, and families in documenting, expressing, and exploring their own military narratives. With your help, we can signal-boost and extend that reach!
Thanks for your interest and support of The Aiming Circle, along with Red Bull Rising and Middle West Press LLC! We look forward to learning and working with you!

We'll put in a
requisition for an artist to update to our logo. (Right now, it's just a drawing of an M2 Aiming Circle, cut from an old Army field manual. When the new artwork arrives, we'll make sure to
share it with our patrons in the form of some cool Aiming Circle merchandise, like stickers, postcards,
or even military-style challenge coins!
