My name is Charlotte Mildon from sunny Hawkes Bay in New Zealand. Te Oomai Reia Romiromi Maori healing was taught to me 15 years ago by the late Hohepa De La Mere, a Whānau Apa Nui Tohunga Ahurewa (a priest of a much higher order from Whitianga). At the same time, Dr Rose Pere mentored me in the lores of the Tohuna Tipua – a cosmic force in a human body, born with the celestial knowledge and only trained to access it. For 12 years I worked beside the late Manu Korewha, Ngaapuhi Tohunga Ahurewa and Atarangi Muru, a Ngāti Kuri Tohunga (healing priestess), both of whom promised Papa De La Mere to look after me when he was gone. When Papa De La Mere passed, Atarangi Muru, the founder of the Māorihealers.com, mentored me to practise a more feminine approach to romiromi to ensure safe practice when spiritually shifting or releasing unwanted energies from the body. Manu Korewha shared many healing philosophies with me over the years and channelled a whole range of ancient mother energies in his takutaku. These Masters in traditional Maori healing supported me in completing my Masters degree that revealed many of the ancient mother energies at the foundation of traditional Māori healing and helped me define and validate romiromi rituals and practices in the findings of my doctoral research.
Papa De La Mere and Manu Korewha believed that the wānanga would look after itself. I have chosen this Patreon platform to share videos that explain some of the Māori healing philosophies, whakapapa, takutaku and romiromi bodywork techniques that were shared with me. Your contributions to this Patreon platform helps to support the community sessions for those in the low income bracket so I humbly thank you for supporting me on this kaupapa.
The page is dedicated to experienced healing practitioners/teachers of romiromi, mirimiri and rongoa Maori as well as to those who want to add to their kete (basket) of healing knowledge. So no matter where you are around the world, nau mai, haere mai, piki mai ki te ao Māori - welcome, welcome, welcome to the spiritual healing realms of the ancestors.
