Milestone Goals
Site mods & online store Every Moment Has a Story
At this goal, we'll be looking for some web upgrades and opening up an online store (and you'll get through the velvet rope first).
PNW Podcasting Pride!
Hitting this mark, I'll be starting a regular monthly vlog/podcast! Doing tutorials, talking about the trends in digital photography, and where mirrorless photography is going. The working title of this show is "This Month in Mirrorless" and Cascadian & Skookum Patrons will get to see the show first!
Birdseye view
If we make it to this goal, I want to take my photography to the skies, backpacking with a drone to capture some of the vistas of the PNW.
Wanderlust
It's a lofty goal, but I want to do more travel photog. Bringing you more exotic locations, history, and culture. And you'll see it first because you helped make it happen.
About
My style comes from the idea that every moment has a story, and in a single frame I try to capture and retell that story. As a freelancer, I use my media and photography skills throughout the Pacific Northwest. I enjoy adventuring with my camera in hand and I am very proud to call #PNW and #UpperLeftUSA my home

Every Moment Has a Story.
Hi!
I'm AJ. I'm a Photographer, an educator, and proud to call myself a local boy from the Pacific Northwest.
I love the digital arts, and I love teaching and combined I've been doing it for about 15 years. Photography and its art of post production have always been one of my favorite art forms. Lately, I've seen a shift in photography; and in the last three years I've been experimenting with new techniques and gear.

Mirrorless Revolution
Quite frankly, technology and expensive software have gotten in the way of the art that is photography. NOT all photos need Photoshop or bulky and expensive gear (like above). About
three years ago, I made the switch from traditional DSLR bodies to smaller, lighter, and faster "mirrorless" cameras; and with it, adapting lenses of all kinds including 30 year old Minolta lenses from thrift stores and Canon lenses I had from my previous cameras. I even found myself proofing my photos in the field using an iPad. I found a new wave of creativity, I felt that art had come back into my photography.
As an Instructional Technologist, I teach others about technology: And my specialty is the digital arts. I've seen people who are curious or want to try to go further in photography get hung up on having to get the most "pro" gear or "pro" software, and they feel that they can't do their art without it.
Amateurs and pros alike, we sometimes forget that every artist has their own favorite tools to use when creating art. That's what makes us unique artists. Creativity comes from the person using the tools, not from the tools themselves.
Supporting this Patreon supports the photography on 500px and VSCO, but with your Evergreen or Cascadian support we can build a community. At those levels on Patreon, you'll get exclusive content, help expand this project, hopefully help produce a vlog/screencast and see other unpublished photography moments.
I hope to see you in the Patreon community supporting my art, and helping me continue showcasing why Every Moment has a Story...
