I am a-ka, short for my art persona a-ka-neArt. My real name is Ann. I am an illustrator and hopeful graphic novelist. My main style is like josei manga. At least, I think it is, I'm not sure. I'm based in Columbus, OH. My main tools are good ole paper and pencil, and Clip Studio Paint.

There are a few webcomics and graphic novels I have been developing over the years. Most of my illustrative work comes from these projects.
  • So We're Making a Comic, SWMaC! for short, is to be semi-autobiographical but also what-if scenarios. I plan on doing different entries in different formats like 4-koma guess the movie and such. Yet, I also want to add longer running things to test the waters.
  • The Nox project is something of the odd middle sibling. It is actually a revival of a project I kinda tinkered with as a kid. I'm still trying to figure out a plot, because I'm making too much story as one friend puts it.
  • The Syrens project was going to be my practice comic until SWMaC! came along. I had a dream one night that started everything. It was of someone trying to interact with an unknown but friendly lifeform. Out of nowhere a siren like howl echoes from far off, and the creature runs away.
  • Triune is my longest living project. It's the most developed and I have tried starting it the most times. It was originally secluded to one island in the world I built. Now it spans countries and centuries.

I come to Patreon to be able to work on these projects full time. Your support can help me focus solely on my art and writing. I also want to be able to support my friends as they have been helpful with advice and guidance. At the moment I am keeping the term at one month.

Patrons can receive many cool perks. Patrons get first looks at in progress and completed art. Downloads are also available, and some tiers even get free prints or posters! Later down the road I want to include a layer guide and project cameos or input.

Thanks for stopping by and I can't wait to hear from you!

I'll make a new fabric painting tutorial for my youtube channel. Patrons get first look, and high tier patrons get downloads.
